Also, they revealed two more Pokémon... There’s Yamper, an Electric corgi Pokémon, and Impidimp, a Dark/Fairy imp Pokémon. I KNEW THERE'D BE A CORGI POKEMON! In addition, Yamper knows the moves Spark and Play Rough, and it also has a new ability that collects the first failed throw of a Poké Ball. E3 photos:

They just announced that only some Pokémon will be able to transfer or be obtainable in Gen 8.Seriously, this is very close to a deal-breaker for me. I'm definitely not going to pre-order until it's cleared up. This isn't Gen 3 where transferring was impossible by technical limitations. This is just not wanting to model the Pokémon -- all of which already have models from the 3DS games that could be upscaled and used in the interim before an update down the road -- and rush Pokémon Home out as soon as possible instead of waiting a few months like Bank did and releasing a product that isn't half-finished. This is a $60 video games too, 1.5x the price of the previous Pokémon games, with half of the content. I'm honestly shocked that with the absolutely insane amount of money Pokémon brings in, they can't just hire some more people to finish the models. Yeah, I’m admittedly a little skeptical about this, too. It’s not necessarily a dealbreaker, but I’m curious why they wouldn’t want to provide a way for us to bring all Pokémon into the game.

We've got new info, courtesy of the playable demo! Note that there could be more info still coming in. - You can use the Poké Ball Plus with Pokémon Sword & Shield to store Pokémon.
- There is a Water-type Gym Leader called Nessa, who uses a Dynamaxed Drednaw. This is yet another confirmed fact from the May leak that I posted at the top of this page.
- Grookey is capable of using a new move called Branch Poke.
- Areas in the Wild Area include Lake Miloch, Rolling Hills, and Lake Axewell.
- Notification icons from your friends appear on the left of the screen, allowing you to see what they're up to, what they've caught, make trade requests, and so forth as part of the WideComm item. Other players can appear in the Wild Area when you're connected and they can give items through both local and online connections.
- You can only take one Pokémon to a Max Raid Battle and can choose based on party or box. Each battle gets a ten-turn limit.
- Dynamax Pokémon can sometimes use multiple moves. In Max Raid Battles, the player that can Dynamax changes each turn, but only one can per Raid Battle.
- A barrier spawns around half of the battlefield that needs to be taken down before the Pokémon can be damaged again. Each attack reduces at least one part of the gauge.
- Pokémon HOME can only transfer Pokémon to Sword & Shield if they appear in the Galar Pokédex.
- Many familiar Pokémon are back. Here's a complete list of the Pokémon confirmed to appear in the games so far.
- If you connect a new Poké Ball Plus with Pokémon Sword & Shield, you can send the Mythical Pokémon Mew to the games.
Nessa: Also, it hasn't been mentioned on Serebii, but I found this on Tumblr. It looks like the traveling companion of the opposite gender might have a role in the games' storyline. The female PC appeared in the playable demo as an NPC and her preliminary(?) name is Gloria. Hey, I looked into that last bit. Gloria is just another person’s character from another game. Apparently, other players can appear in the Wild Area and give you things. So, it looks like the opposite gender player character is so far not going to be a part of the story.

Anyway, Pokemon in the games are said to have Dynamax Levels, but the definition of that currently remains unclear.

The only data for a Pokemon high in size would be model, animation and sound files, and we need to remember that this is a console that launched with a game the size of Breath of the Wild. If that enormous world and all of the models in it can fit on a single Switch cartridge, I can't imagine how the data for another few hundred Pokemon couldn't fit.

Then perhaps the Dynamaxing feature and/or other features we don't know about yet are taking up more space? I don't know, but it makes sense to me.

I mean, I wasn’t freaking out. Honestly, I don’t really mind all that much. We went through the exact same thing with PokéBank, so it’s not like we haven’t dealt with waiting before. Everyone will be fine.

A 6-month delay is one thing. My concern is that we will never get the functionality at all. Of course, every generation gap since 5 to 6 suffers from the inevitability that the servers will be shut down, and a major part of the game will be forever lost. I really hope that hackers figure out how to transfer Pokemon after the official Bank servers die. With that said, I don't think that anyone is being "really ridiculous" about this. It's major functionality in the game that absolutely should exist, especially considering the 50% price hike on this generation and the fact that Pokemon Home is an additional charge. People are holding a game developer accountable for their decisions, and if complaints or boycotting is the way to accomplish that, I see nothing wrong with it.

That's pretty extreme, though, not to mention pretty stupid to do. I'm sure the higher-ups are aware of the backlash this would cause and are in the process of finding a solution to the problem. In the meantime, people should be more focused on the new Pokemon and features. That's supposed to be the major draw, right?

I really hope that people are right that it will all be patched in, but it's my fear that it won't be. "You can only transfer certain Pokemon because <excuse reason>" is a lot different from "Your favorite Pokemon can be transferred right away, with more joining at a later date."

It's not really a big deal, though. They're essentially wiping what's estimated to be between one third and one half of Pokemon out of existence. I'd call that a big deal.
