Something I just realized, anyone who is opposed to hacking in Pokémon games should consider themselves pretty happy, because these games are going to be very hard to hack because of how the Switch manages save data. Granted, I can think of attacks and ways around it, but it wouldn't be anywhere close to as easy as before. A man-in-the-middle attack or a DNS attack or firmware data spoofing could work but it's doubtful it would last, and the only sure way I can think of would require two Switches, two copies of the game, and manually trading everything. Pretty sure people have already figured out a bunch of ways to do it, considering they hacked the Let’s Go games pretty quick. It sounds like it’s definitely not as easy, but it’s still very much possible. Oh certainly, the difficult part isn't hacking it per say, it's being able to hack it and not get banned in online play. What I meant was that Nintendo can likely crack down on people using custom firmware pretty easily, and it would be difficult to get around that.

The main issue is people hacking and leaking stuff before the games come out. Especially the final evolutions of the starters. That’s always the big thing that people try to reveal early. Also game stores selling the games early.

Fortunately, if there isn't data added to SM or LGPE or Pokemon Go before the Sword Shield launch date, there isn't actually any data to hack in the first place. Leaks would be coming from internal sources. Can't really stop places from breaking street date, unfortunately. At least the simultaneous release helps minimize the issue

Wait, what list are you using? I'm using Neverending Romance. It has all the SM ships recorded. Yeah, and it hasn't been updated since 2016. SM did start in 2016.
Where exactly does it say that? I can't find the date anywhere. Also, she is a main character. Of the games, I mean. XD The anime will be kind of dependent on what other characters will be revealed for these games. I mean, Hilda, Luna, and Leaf all got passed up just to have some gym leader girl be used (for better, or for worse in the case of Iris). I suppose it is possible and I would love to have her in the main cast. There is a pattern, but I'm not really sure if knowing it would do us any good. Every single generation where the PC that isn't chosen by the player still has a significant role in the game, the female PC is traveling with Ash. Likewise, if the PC that isn't chosen doesn't have a significant appearance, Ash travels with a gym leader or the trial captains. Of course, this doesn't really help much, because by the time the games are out, the anime would already be announced and likely set to air within a week. I really don't understand the writers' logic behind that, though. Hilda, Rosa, Selene, and Leaf would've made great characters for the anime. Hell, the male playable characters would've made great characters too, and they don't necessarily need to be represented by Ash.

I would imagine it would be to tie into the games better, and because of the simple fact that these characters don't really have a personality in the games separate from the player.

The writers really need to read Pokémon Adventures. They could definitely get some great character ideas from there. Heck, they should watch Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. Because I firmly believe everyone should watch Brotherhood.

That's pretty freaking lazy on the writers' part, though. Were May's Expeditions and Serena's crush on Ash part of the main storyline for their respective games?

My point was that the female PC wouldn't really be different from whichever character they did decide to include. Hilda doesn't have a personality in the games, so there's really nothing that would stop her from being exactly like Iris anyways.

They could've made her Ash's first main female rival.

Sorry for the double-post, but someone posted this leak exactly one week before the official announcement. He's been right about the game titles and the region inspiration so far. Let's see if he gets the rest right. Also... I really want her to be a main character! SO KAWAII!Her design heavily reminds me of Onodera from Nisekoi, honestly... and Scorbunny makes me think of Chitoge due to the ears. Very cute, though. Wonder if the male counterpart will see an anime debut, while we're at it.

All in all, a bundle of kawaii. I doubt it. Without a doubt, Ash'll be cosplaying as him.
