Okay, so we just got news that there will be a Pokémon Direct tomorrow. It’s supposed to give us the first information about the Gen 8 games, so once we have the info, I’ll edit the title of this thread and make it the official discussion thread.

The direct will be on at 6 am PT and will run for 7 minutes. Don't expect 7 minutes of gameplay though.

I'm fairly certain that 50-60% of that time will be spent on talking about the franchise.

The gen 7 reveal was just the name and logo, and the starters weren't until May, it seems. Though the gen 6 reveal had names, logos, starters, region, and gameplay, so who knows.

I've been saying it for over a year and a half now, I'd love to see a Pokemon region based on Scandinavia, starting in Copenhagen and progressing north until you fight the League in Longyearbyen or Ny-Alesund, the northernmost cities in the world. Granted, I'd also love a South African or New Zealand themed region, but it's been over ten years since Platinum, the last cold-weather Pokemon game, and it could tie in well with Sinnoh remakes almost certainly coming this generation.

Well, personally, I’m pretty good at determining which starter I’ll go with just from the first form. Although, they all look cool.

Here's the recap for the Pokémon Direct:
Pokémon Sword
Pokémon Shield
Galar region
Grass starter is called Grookey
Fire Starter is called Scorbunny
Water starter is called Sobble
Pokémon gyms are back
Releasing worldwide in late 2019

They also mentioned that there's going to be more Pokémon stuff that isn't Sword & Shield this year but they haven't revealed what that is yet.

Normally I am as well, but with these three I'm so split. This is the most indecision I've felt regarding starters in years.

It took 12 minutes for fanart to hit pixiv and 12 minutes for a non rushed sketch to hit the same website.

Pokémon fans are certainly tied with Touhou fans for fastest fanart in the world.

I’m thinking you would match up with Sobble. It kind of makes me think of an iguana, and you seem like you mesh well with it.
