A number of these Pokémon evolve from themselves. What do you mean by that, exactly? (It's a long list and I'm too tired to go through it in its entirety right now.)

I was mainly noticing it at the beginning of the list, it said that the Pokemon evolves from a specific number and for some of the entries, the number it evolves from is its own entry.

Oh yeah, I noticed that. :/

Man, I’m really wanting that Drednaw. I hope they tell us what types these are. Also, multiplayer and giant Pokémon. Amazing.

Summary of all the info from Pokémon Direct, combined with stuff from Bulbapedia: - New Pokémon have been revealed. They are Corviknight, Wooloo, Gossifleur, Drednaw, and Eldegoss.
- Corviknight is a Flying/Steel-type that can fly to around to previously visited areas.
- Wooloo is a Normal-type.
- Gossifleur and Eldegoss are Grass-types.
- Drednaw is a Water/Rock-type.
- There is a new form battling called Dynamax, in which a Pokémon can temporarily grow to a massive size on the battlefield with the help of a Dynamax Band. This temporary transformation also changes a Pokémon's moves into Max Moves, which are more powerful than regular moves. In addition, it increases their stats. However, Dynamax works once per battle in certain areas and only lasts three turns.
- In relation to Dynamax, there is a new multiplayer feature called Max Raid Battles, where players come together to face wild Dynamax Pokémon. Only one player can use a Dynamaxed Pokémon. At the end, players can battle. Pokémon in Dynamax Battles vary depending on location. Some Pokémon can only be found in Max Raid Battles.
- The Champion is Leon, who appears multiple times through the story, and his brother Hop is the rival. The Professor is Magnolia, assisted by her granddaughter Sonia.
- The Gym Leader featured in the trailer is named Milo, and he is a Grass-type specialist.
- The Legendary Pokémon are both wolves, Zacian and Zamazenta.
General photos: Mechanics photos: Dynamax: Dynamax Band: Max Raid Battle: Pokémon photos: Corviknight: Wooloo: Gossifleur: Drednaw: Eldegoss: Zacian: Zamazenta: Human photos and summaries: Male PC: Female PC: Leon: "The Champion of the Galar region's Pokémon League."Hop: "The player's neighbor and rival. His goal is to become the Champion, just like his brother Leon."Professor Magnolia: "A Pokémon Professor from the Galar region. She specializes in Dynamax."Sonia: "The granddaughter and assistant of Professor Magnolia. She is a researcher and also Leon's childhood friend and love interest."Milo: "A Gym Leader of Galar. He specializes in Grass-type Pokémon." My personal thoughts on the trailer and info: - I actually feel quite disappointed about the Dynamax feature. Compared to Mega Evolution and Z-Moves, Dynamax sounds like a step down in creativity. BUT after seeing the trailer, I sort of see a little bit of a soccer inspiration, so I might need to learn a little more before my opinion is finalized.
- Corviknight is my favorite Gen VIII Pokémon so far, hands down.
- I would love to know if Zacian's sword and Zamazenta's armor have become so ingrained into their biology or if you can easily separate those from the Pokémon for certain purposes. If it's the former, then Zacian's sword looks super-impractical for everyday life; Zamazenta's armor makes more sense to me. If it's the latter, I'd love to know if the sword and armor will have great significance to the games' plot.
- They don't mention it, but Trainer customization is clearly returning for these games, so that's a big plus for me.
- Hop sounds and looks like another nice rival. We'll see what happens, but so far, I think I'm now realizing why people don't like the nice rival trend.
- So it looks like the Queen isn't the Champion...but instead the Pokémon Professor. WHAT A TWIST!
- I ship Leon and Sonia already. 'Nuff said.
More to come.

ThanosSonia’s probably going to end up being Ash’s traveling companion over the female trainer now.

ThanosSonia’s probably going to end up being Ash’s traveling companion over the female trainer now. Doesn't matter. Sonia looks like traveling companion material to me anyway. I'd gladly ship her with Ash. It'd be even more interesting if Sonia is older than Ash. It'd be a good big sister-little brother dynamic. Speaking of which, it doesn't look like the PC of the opposite gender will be a rival in the games so far, like in DP and XY. Sad.
