Seeing that I've seen plenty of people mimic the official Pokémon artstyle over this past week and that I'm still salty over Grinch leak I'm gonna lean on the side of "It's fake, brah" until further notice. And yeah, I’m not buying these. They don’t really look exactly like Pokémon, let alone evolutions to the starters. I could see their designs being similar, but I highly doubt it.

It's been confirmed that the large stadiums are indeed gyms, run by "Gym Masters". I suppose soccer-based gyms are still entirely possible, but honestly, to me it seems like they might be themed around a unique Pokemon-based sporting event, or a different game in every gym. There could very well be a soccer gym, a rugby gym, a cricket gym, and so on.

Apparently Nintendo America's leak was an accident, because they have since deleted the tweet confirming this.

It apparently survived for about 3 hours. Perhaps they meant "leaders" instead of "masters" and deleted it for that reason? They're not exactly terribly different terms. |
