I think the Alolan forms exist in the game because you can transfer them over from Pokémon GO. As for timelines... Do you really think that such massive genetic deviation can occur in multiple species in only 10-15 years? It's most likely that the in-universe reasoning is that the Alolan forms existed they just never needed to be mentioned before. Reading through my comment again I realize the way I said it was silly. I'm less wondering how they came about and more how they're going to explain them suddenly being there. Probably they took the Alolan forms over there?

Probably they took the Alolan forms over there? ...I gathered that much, mate. What I'm asking is why someone brought them there. And what areas would they live in now, since they've adapted to a different environment? Does the Alolan Geodude family hang out around the power plant? Will we find Alolan Sandshrew and Vulpix in the Seafoam Islands, as that's the only real place Ice-types are found naturally in Kanto? If the whole reason the Kanto variation of Exeggutor is so short is due to the lack of strong sunlight in Kanto, how can its Alolan form even survive there?

I will probably get Let's Go Eevee, choose the male trainer, name him Ash, then with character customization, try to see if I can make him look like M21 Ash.

In excerpts of an interview with Famitsu magazine, Junichi Masuda just implied that these games might have some sort of compatibility with other games.

I mean they have to, one-off title you're using as a placeholder for next year's game and you can't transfer them over?
Then again, I don't think I will transfer any for myself, CP is bullshit. Pokemon Bank is gonna be updated soon enough.

He may have been hinting at it.

Oh well, it's Kanto, it's on the Switch. I can ignore the bs Pokemon GO likeliness more or less.

Honestly, I’m probably going to end up skipping these games unless someone wants to buy me a Switch. They seem kind of interesting and look aesthetically appealing, but I just really don’t have much interest in them as of yet. Mainly because they’re doing Kanto again. Sure, I love Kanto and the original games, but they always talk about Kanto. It’s really overhyped. I’d rather get right into a brand new region, but I can wait another year.

Makes me wonder why they're not over-hyping Johto. At this point, it's just as old and nostalgic to the fanbase as Kanto. I could also argue Hoenn, but that was already done with Gen VI.

Because with many franchises "The first instalment is the best" is in play with the fanbases. Even when the sequels are way better.

Especially when there might be even better sequels.

According to Serebii, Shiny Pokemon "will not appear in the shiny colours but will have a special shiny aura around them showcasing two stars." Sounds like they're taking the name literally now.
