I doubt Sun and Moon will even be over before or shortly after these games come out. It probably won’t end until next year, prior to when the Gen 8 games come out. These games really don’t seem to warrant their own anime series, given that they’re just remakes. Well the Alola League starts soon so maybe Ash leaves Alola after the League concludes. I was thinking Oak wants him to become a tutor for young trainers and Oak thought Ash would be the perfect tutor. Where did you hear the Alola League is starting soon? It looks like Ash is still pursuing the island challenge and his Ultra Guardian duties.

Looks like the games will be playable on the E3 show floor next week. Hopefully we'll learn more from this.

Okay, so there is a bunch of news that got revealed at E3, but there’s just one thing I want to talk about: So it appears instead of Gary/Blue, they replaced him with a less adverserial rival named Trace. I’m going to be honest—I really don’t like this change. If you’re going to try to bring back a lot of the old fans, why are you getting rid of one of the best rivals in the franchise? I get that Gary is kind of mean-spirited, but he was always there to push me further, like a true rival should.
I guess I can see why they might be doing this, but I don’t think the change was needed necessarily. Ah, well. We’ll just have to wait and see how this rival shapes out. EDIT: Hang on, just noticed something else weird. Apparently, you have to have a Grass or Water Pokémon to even enter the Pewter City Gym. Huh? That seems really restrictive, and odd in general. If I remember correctly, there aren’t really any Grass or Water Pokémon found before Pewter. Plus, if they’re applying that logic to every gym, you’re forcing people to use specific types of Pokémon. I get that it’s smart to have certain types when you go to gyms, but what if someone doesn’t want to use Water or Grass types? Or what if someone is Nuzlocking this game? You could be stuck completely if you don’t happen to catch a Water or Grass Pokémon.
Sigh... I may be skipping out on these games. I’ll decide as we hear more.

I understand they’re trying to appeal to the casual gamers to get them into the main series games, but even casual gamers will only use certain Pokémon. I’m really not sure I’m going to get either one of these games. I mean, they look phenomenal, but they’re removing a number of things that made the other games really good.

A review of the new info just received: - The Mythical Pokémon Mew will be available to all players of Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu & Let's Go Eevee if they purchase the Poké Ball Plus. All Poké Ball Plus will come with a Mew.
- Let's Go Pikachu & Let's Go Eevee will be available with a special bundle that includes the game and the Poké Ball Plus peripheral for $99.99.
- Size of Pokémon you capture alters the amount of experience you earn. Bigger Pokémon get more experience. Like in Pokémon GO, you can use a Razz Berry to make Pokémon easier to capture.
- All of your Party Pokémon gain experience from capture. You get bonuses for the quality of your capture.
- The aura around Pokémon in the wild indicates Pokémon size. Red: Bigger than normal | Blue: Smaller than normal
- The stat screen when you level up shows the stats and nature are still in place and that Pikachu learns Double Kick.
- CP is confirmed to work the same way as in Pokémon GO as an overall indicator of the combined stats of the Pokémon. You can also swap out the Pokémon you have following you at will.
- The new rival is a character called Trace. He is less adversarial than the original rival.
- In order to access Pewter Gym, you need to have a Water or Grass Pokémon on your team.
- To connect to other players over wireless or Internet, you need to share a Link Code. This is a code made out of various Pokémon akin to Pokémon GO's Raid Battle lobby system.
- GO Park replaces the Safari Zone in Fuchsia City. Multiple GO Parks can be saved. Pokémon in GO Park can then be captured by talking to the Pokémon. It can't be sent back to GO.
- The higher the CP of a Pokémon in Pokémon GO, the higher level it will be in Pokémon Let's Go through Pokémon GO Park.
- Candy exists in Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu & Let's Go Eevee. Boosts a Pokémon's stats. Quick Candy for example boosts Speed.
- It's confirmed that Mew cannot be sent from Pokémon GO to Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu & Let's Go Eevee so it can only be obtained through the Poké Ball Plus. It's also noted that the Mew gift may not be able to be redeemed after a certain period of time. This period of time is unclear.
Some images from E3: My thoughts: Yeah, these changes make the games sound very hand-holdy. The appeal level is dropping for me. (Not that I had plans of getting either of them in the first place, since I don't have a Switch yet.) Not only that, but IMO, it also sounds like the games are being marketed towards young casual gamers, specifically. And possibly also entitled millennials who can't figure shit out themselves.
On a positive note, I don't see what's the problem with the Trace character. Did they ever confirm these player characters are Red and Leaf? Because it seems like they're just completely new characters to me. Also...Brock's new clothing looks like a fusion of his AG and DP clothes. It's kinda good to the eye.

We've got a plethora of new info, with more coming later today/tomorrow! - Eevee has a special gender difference in this game, a love heart-style tail. You can also give your Pikachu and Eevee haircuts.
- Oddish, Sandshrew, and Growlithe are exclusive to Let's Go Pikachu; while Bellsprout, Vulpix, and Meowth are exclusive to Let's Go Eevee.
- The game only has two Player battles, meaning Multi Battles are not in the game.

I've been hearing people talk about there being Alola Forms in the game but can't find a solid source for where that information came from. Does anyone know better than me?

I believe that was officially confirmed. Sure, I just haven't been able to find a source for when/how that confirmation happened. It creates a lot of questions though. Where does this place the games in the timeline? If it's around the time of Sun and Moon, shouldn't major characters such as Gym Leaders be older? Or were Alolan forms known to exist 20 years before? I know this game might not fit into the same timeline as the others, but it would be nice to have answers. Edit: Also it occurs to me that only Alolan forms will be Dark-type, as none of the original 151 were.

As for timelines... Do you really think that such massive genetic deviation can occur in multiple species in only 10-15 years? It's most likely that the in-universe reasoning is that the Alolan forms existed they just never needed to be mentioned before.

Also... Will Team Rocket blast off here as well?

I'm less wondering how they came about and more how they're going to explain them suddenly being there.
