Would Elfin Lied and Higurashi be those "cartoons"? Lol Higurashi, Elfen Lied, Hellsing, Berserk, Akira, Blue Gender. Probably several more but those are the ones that kinda jump out. I've seen two of them, and they really were kind of trippy.

Maybe it's evolved by now xD Maybe where someone is fishing and only catches Magikarp/Feebass while another next to him catches all these cool Pokemon lol. I miss game references :/

You are correct, but he was also in the Pokemon adventures manga. Red did go to Johto. Kanto and Johto I believe are sometimes considered one region, since there is one Elite Four/Champion. (You call me out for Joey, and not Feebass? lol Just because it happens later in the series/franchise, doesn't mean they didn't exist before.)

Feebas can't be found in Kanto anyway, so it doesn't matter. By the way, I looked up Joey. He didn't appear in the Pokémon Adventures manga until after Gold first appeared.

Again, Joey still existed, he just didn't appear in the known series lol. It's not like we know everything, 16-17 years later and we STILL don't know why pretty much none of the main characters have fathers in the games (except Ruby and Sapphire to my knowledge).

Does that make North and South Korea one country because they're together? No. They are officially counted as two countries. Same thing applies to Johto and Kanto. They're two different regions, yet because they're the only ones with the Pokemon League at the exact same area, they can share an Elite Four. Oh and to help with the Feebas part, different climate zones perhaps? Not all fish can be found all around the world, some stay in one area or multiple areas. The fact they have or have no parents means nothing to the overall plot. It's also like Disney. The only exception would be with Green and Silver looking for their parents/parent respectively.

Never said Feebass would be in Kanto region, I used it as an example. Also, if that was the case, you could still catch Feebass and bring them over to Kanto, although it would kill them from the climate. Also, as if climate matters? A flamethrower from Charizard that could melt your face off doesn't affect Ash at all, not to mention all the other aspects that the Pokemon world pretty much ignores such as aging? At least for some people anyway. North and South Korea, correct me if I'm wrong, was once a single nation that was divided by WW2 once Japan lost it's control over it. What I was saying is that although we know about the regions and some of their history, we do not know everything, just as we do not know everything about our own country of origin. The fact it doesn't matter to the overall plot doesn't mean it wouldn't be nice to know? We could care less about other countries, or about other planets, or about what is at the deepest parts of the ocean because it doesn't affect us either way, but for some reason we still explore and try to discover new things. Joey didn't matter to the plot, Cresselia hasn't really made any important part in the anime, and May has been gone since Diamond and Pearl, yet we still like AdvanceShipping. I don't exactly know where we are going at when I simply suggested more references to other parts of the franchise in the anime, to about Joey, or about a Feebass that doesn't really matter?

I don't exactly know where we are going at when I simply suggested more references to other parts of the franchise in the anime, to about Joey, or about a Feebass that doesn't really matter? 1. Good job with the plurium interrogationum there. 2. Yes, they were; however not anymore. They're officially two different countries and we can fight about their past and future statuses, but the fact of the matter is - they're two different regions and should be addressed as it. 3. You're comparing two different things. One is real and the other is just a form of entertainment. If they're not going to make a backstory, then you can through FanFiction. It shouldn't matter at all to the plot or to the exact point whether his father was a rapist or his mother was a drug addict. He's 10, he's an acquaintance to Gold, and that's all. He's just there as a reference. Again, it's just for entertainment, there's no reason to go up in arms for knowing more about these characters if we can make them have a backstory or what they are doing now. It's like Disney, we don't know all the backstory of characters; we don't know their parents; what you're wanting is too much for a medium that doesn't want to focus too much on those details. Edit: Messed up my fallacy. Anyway, we need to get back on topic here.

Lol okay then!
Hmm... quick question, which came first? The game or the manga? I ask this because I want to know/decipher whether Red is from the games or the manga. Or maybe a combination of the two?

Or maybe a combination of the two? The games came first. They were, of course, the origin of Pokemon. In fact, they only created the manga because the games got so popular--something that Gamefreak never expected to happen.
