@haruka If the first episode of Hellsing you watched was the one episode, I can understand why you might think it's a romance genre. I can assure you it isn't.
Watch if you choose, can't say it's a real spoiler but here's one of his fights just so that you can get an idea. It's in English but at least it's not an AMV...
Well one thing I should probably mention is that High School of the Dead and High School Dxd are two completely different series. I haven't watched High School of the Dead yet but I think I have it on Luna ready to be watched.
At this point, after everything I've watched along with corruption from the internet in general, my standard for anime spans virtually all genres. So to me Gantz looks to be rather interesting.
And as Anthoneey mentioned, yes I have seen Evangelion. Although I haven't taken the time to watch the OVAs and movies yet.
@anthoneey
When it comes to Clannad there is a good shift between the two seasons. Mostly because it focuses on the main character's growing relationship with the girl he decided upon in the first season. There are also a couple time skips in there as well so you fast forward through their life a bit as well.
Sorry, yeah the "right reasons" can be sometimes taken the wrong way depending on how people want to view it. I don't choose the anime I want to watch for any other reason besides I think that I'll like watching it and either get a good laugh from it or enjoy the story.
Hmm, I think I enjoy the newer ones a bit more than the older anime but I have a good respect for the old ones and just because they're old doesn't mean they're not good. So I follow the aforementioned rule.
@aura Well either you can choose to stray away from stuff like that or start to desensitize yourself and enjoy the story itself. Although at your age I probably shouldn't push the latter option too much, lol.

@aura - I'm working on it @lucifer - What's Luna? Alright, well that makes it much better then I guess. I think, or I'm pretty sure that the reason for me not having watched it yet has to be the fact that I more or less know how it's going to end. Think about it, pretty much wherever you go, people compare 'sad' series with this one and often drop a line or two about precisely why.. (the ending, that is) Yup, the right reasons, and that's something pretty amazing if you ask me. Most boys I've seen on the net either watch shows because: - everybody else does - the series contains a decent amount of 'that' The age of animes doesn't matter I guess, the only thing I find irritating (for me!) is the art. Because they're so old they look out of date, well obviously, and that kinda hurts my eye xD Despite this, I've gotten through a few old ones and plan on doing that with a few more. Wubbzy- How's GTO? ^^ What's the most weirdest anime you've watched? Kämpfer. No doubt. Surely it had its moments and was pretty awesome, but the plot made no sense, and the OVAs were just plain disappointing.

What's the most wierdest anime you've watched?
I don't remember the name but a friend of mine showed me one episode of this anime he found. It had laser shooting boobs in it. He found weird as well though, so I was relieved that I wasn't the only one.

@speedy - Laser shooting boobs..? Sounds incredibly awesome yet disturbing at the same time :P @yin Yang - Really? I haven't watched that yet, so I have no ways of being sure, but it didn't look too weird at first.. xD Wubbzy- You should watch Kämpfer unless you're busy, and you'll totally turn out like this: O.o HAHAH, why don't you watch the other seasons? ^^

@anthoneey Oh sorry, Luna is one of my three external HDs. Luna, Artemis, and Tsubaki. Luna mostly has anime I am watching or am going to watch, Artemis has general backup files along with my TV shows and movies, and Tsubaki contains the anime I've already watched. Tsubaki is also my largest at 2TB but I'm down to a few hundred MBs of free space already, hehe. Yeah I guess with all the talk that Clannad has gotten some of the parts are probably partly ruined, but the moments that it's somewhat famous for are near the ending but not the actual ending. Overall it's not as depressing as you might think. Although if you've read my story The Puppeteer's Wishes see if you can't find some of the ideas that I used from Clannad in there. Some aren't as overt as some of my other references like Higurashi but they're in there. While I can't deny that some fanservice is nice to see and can add in points of comedy, if you're watching anime for just that reason, I think you have bigger problems to worry about. As you can probably tell from my list a decent portion of them aren't what most would consider main-stream. And while the ones that everyone knows about usually are better, there's a reason people know about them, it's the little jewels of the virtually unknown ones that turn out to be good that I like to find. I agree that the animation is definitely different but sometimes the more "retro" look suits a series. Either that or it's just hard to picture is as such, lol. But if they hurt your eyes connect your computer to a TV and watch them that way. While I'm on my desktop my monitor is fine but when I want to relax a little while watching I connect my laptop up to my TV and watch it that way. Being able to stay further away from the picture should help your eyes. Just be careful about running the real high quality stuff like 1920x1080 because while the laptop I use is only a few years old it's graphics card can't handle those very easily compared to my desktop. Of course alternatively you could also just connect your tower up to the TV, but for me at least that would require me to move my tower. And a full tower with a solid steel casing isn't fun to move... Wubbzy*sigh* Yet another I think I have sitting to be watched but always get delayed. I'll have to try and move that up on my list. @speedy Probably not the series you were showed but High School Dxd had a scene like that, lol. And finally: What's the weirdest anime you've watched? While I agree Kampfer was a bit odd, less so than that manga though thanks to the anime getting all the way through, for me I'd have to say it depends on what kind of weird you mean. Overall though I'd have to say Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan. Speed Grapher and Kodomo No Jikan are up there as well. Trying to explain Dokuro-chan though... Well you guys are probably getting sick of all the YouTube I'm putting up but it's easier to show you than tell you. It's an AMV but I will say that there is a good amount of blood so watch only if you're okay with it. Edit: I can find something else if it offends people.

@lucifer - You give your harddrives names?! xD, how much is the total of all of those combined? I have a 3TB drive I bought a few weeks ago to back up my stuff in my computer before turning it in, and when it gets back, I'll have a total of 4.5TB. But, when you're storing anime, which can range from 300 to over 1GB per episode, that space won't last long :P How much 'Clannad material' did you put in your story? :p Agreed, it actually boosts the comedy quite a bit when they implement it the right ways ^^, now, if only people wouldn't walk in on my precisely during these scenes.. I had a hard time looking for good non-mainstream series, but managed to rack up a decent list. Anyways, whenever I watch through those (which will take a while), then I'll just check your list for recommendations ^^ giggity, when I said that they hurt my eyes I didn't mean it literally, xD I kinda meant how it 'felt' to go from beautiful art of today to older series. My laptop is awesome, even though it ironically got a breakdown, so watching stuff like that isn't something to worry about. Infact, most computers can watch highquality files like, I mean, unless the computer is very weak from like 2006 and older.. Heh, I also watch anime on my ridiculously large screen TV! However, I don't directly connect my computer to the tv. Instead, I stream the files through the network, saving the lazy me work with cables :3 But yes.. you do require some kind of renderer like a Playstation 3, Popcorn Hour or an Xbox 360 connected to your router, the same goes for your computer. It all requires a bit of work and a powerful connection together with a strong computer.. but once it's done, you just sit back and relax D:, I'll even post a picture tomorrow of how it looks like ^^ LOL, THAT SERIES. Beating a guy to death and then reviving him using magic. Randomness at its finest.

Yes I named them, lol. But that was mainly for organizational purposes. They're all Western Digital External HDs so I don't want to have to open each one up to find what I want. Originally I had just Luna and Artemis and had things spread across both of them from both watched and watching series, but when they got full I bought the 2TB Tsubaki and did a mass reorganizing and reformatting to get things orderly. I have about 4.5TB in total as well, 4TB on the externals, but have only about 1TB of free space. A lot of the stuff is older so it's not in 1920 so on average the episodes are about 200MB. In the last year or two though I have been moving towards the higher quality so it's filling up faster. I mean the Hellsing Ultimate series, which are OVAs redoing and expanding on the original Hellsing, range from 2-4GB per episode.
Let's see. Primarily I took a couple quotes from Clannad and part of my final scene is based off of the whole story that goes on behind the scenes of the characters' normal lives. Those are the more overt ones at least. There are probably a few more subtle ones, like the way things flowed or the way characters acted, that I doubt anyone would really notice.
Yeah I get the same feeling when it comes to fanservice. It's easy enough to try and explain but initial impressions are hard to change, and people will sometimes think you're just making excuses.
... Well that's my fault on misinterpreting what you meant, hehe. To me it all depends on the mood they're trying to set. School themed definitely look better in the newer art but sometimes the darker themes come out better with the old versions.
Oh the laptop can run it, it just won't be as smooth as my desktop. I mean my desktop's graphics card is almost as big as my laptop, lol. But I probably need to get my PS3 onto my home network. Would make things a little easier. I've just never used it as anything more than a game console or Blu-Ray Player because of the laptop. I do like playing mad-scientist though with the TV/computer (or that's how I always used to explain it to my mom who would go nuts that I would break something by swapping a couple cables, hehe) but simplicity is best when it comes to things like that.
And yes, Dokuro-chan is really random. And the fact that she kills him several times in each episode, along with some of the odder aspects like removing an angel's halo will give them explosive diarrhea, makes that the top of my "weirdest" list.
