Midnight - Actually it's the best thing you can use for EV training because it stacks on top of everything else. It doubles the final result of the Pokemon's base EV gain plus any items. So defeating a Pokemon that normally gives 1 Atk EV while wearing the Power Bracer (or whatever the one for Atk is) will get you 5 Attack EVs, with Pokerus that doubles to 10 per kill. You can get to the ideal 252 after 10 vitamins 15 normal kills and 1 without the bracer.
Overall the math isn't bad if you're getting 10-12 EVs per kill. I just only use one attack to beat the ones I'm targeting and keep an eye on how many of the PP I've used on that attack to keep track of how many I've beaten. Otherwise I go into autopilot and watch TV or something as I'm building them up.
Gengar - Well like I said, unless you do EV training it's nothing more than a novelty. So it's not surprising you didn't bother figuring out how it really worked.
Speedy - I don't bother with IV breeding anymore personally. But especially with the tournaments in Black 2 which bring every Pokemon down to lvl 50, you no longer have the normal advantage of higher lvl. As such you need to rely on pure stats, and EVs are an easy way to control at least some of that. Compared to IV breeding, EV training is nothing when you have the right items. Takes me about 20-30 minutes to prep a Pokemon to be raised to max level.

You can easily get the same amount of EV training without it. Yes, it is a bonus but to really got and verse each pokemon to get in it is just to rare and all that time could of been used for training. If i remember correctly each pokemon has 504 EV's. 10 Carbos will be in total of 100 ev's, 10 per 1 carbos. Versing ex: 30 zubats at the price of 1EV will give you 150 - 30 x 5 = 150. Look 250 instantly! Now you have 254 EV points to spend on another attirubute. Honestly i would rather training without the virus than spend my time looking for it.

Oh, yeah actively looking for it is about the biggest waste of time you can do but with everyone else that has it, thanks to it's ease of spread after you get it, along with the WiFi trading you can just trade for one who has it without really needing much in terms of equal exchange,
Might want to check your math though, cause that equation equals zero, lol. Used subtraction instead of addition, but that's nothing more than a mistype. I still like using it though simply for dropping that 30 by half so I can train a whole Pokemon in the time it would take to do 2. And it's actually 510 so you can do 252, 252, and 4/6. It only matters if you get up to the next multiple of 4 so you have a bit left over after maxing 2.

It is your WiFi or simply the DS? Because if it's the DS you can just see if you have a friend from which you could borrow one, and if it's the WiFi just go to a different hotspot.
Don't worry Pichu, the chances say that if you keep playing you'll find one eventually.

Congrats Speedy, I obtained on of those through trade on Bulbagarden a while back, but I traded it away for my Shiny Gastly which of course became my Shiny Gengar. @pichu, gotta catch 'em all.

I'm going to start training all of my other Pokemon now so that I can get the single type Elite 4 challenge medals. Wish me luck.

Unlocked it but haven't tried it yet. Assassin's Creed III has taken me away for a while. I foresee it being annoying until I can bring over my real trained Pokemon but not overly hard. The fact that most won't have a single type will be a mixed blessing. Plus Garchomp with a Choice Scarf or Band will probably be enough to take down the Dragon-Type specialists.
But good luck nonetheless.

I'm doing the Curtis/Yandy sidequest and all i can say it is a pain. I've already rode the Ferriswheel with him, so hopefully after a few more calls he will trade with me.
Come Curtis! Trade with me! Argh!

If you've already done the first ferris wheel moment you only have to wait a day. After I got that moment I got like 3 more calls, stopped for the day, came back the next day and suddenly I was able to do the trades.

Got him. I've actually memorized all the towns you can call him from. I'm glad i called him 50 times in one night so i won't have to do the rest the next day. I kinda understand why there are so many fanart with Nate/Yancy or Rosa/Curtis.
It's kind of cute that there is a character has some sort of love interest with your character. I find that super cute.

Tried out the Champion's Tournament today, definitely harder than the Gym Leaders but still nothing too bad. Down to about a 50/50 chance to win. Going to build up another Garchomp to use as a CBer or CSer instead of my current one which is more of one designed for a Life Orb, but my Metagross already is using one so I can't use another. Need to also figure out how to get a powerful Special Defense Tank in as well. It would be so much easier if we had 4 to choose from. Weezing just isn't enough.
