I saw that you guys were talking about this whole debacle, so I thought it'd be cool to make a thread for it.
Personally, I think the game is a disaster. Not only that, but it also completely backfired on them. Their intention was to make us realize what we were doing is cruel, but if anything it just reinforced our love for Pokemon xD
First of all, their representation of how trainers treat their Pokemon was totally false. Especially the way they portrayed Ash and Pikachu, good grief xD
Second, they act like placing a Pokemon in a pokeball is torturous, when pokeballs are designed to be comfortable and friendly environments for the Pokemon.
Basically, PETA sucks.

Doesn't surprise me at all, actually. I mean, one, their timing was right on the dot when they knew that the new games would come out. That means that they've been working on this for a while.

Agreed, thanks for making this thread Sara.
Again, my opinion still stands on this issue.

Funny how PETA claims that pokemon promotes animal cruelty and slavery when PETA destroy animals for convenience.

PETA scares me... It feels as if they're trying to rape my childhood.

Isn't that a violation against copyright? :/ I mean they didn't even try to change some aspects If they call it PETAmon than it would maybe not so embarassing for them

They did something like this with Super Mario 3D Land when it first came out. After it backfired so badly on them, they turned around and claimed it was just a joke.
I'm guessing that'll probably happen again.
stupid PETA...

Wasn't that the one where they had the tanuki skin chasing after Mario? I haven't played it but from what I've seen it's a funny concept. Although like Black and Blue they probably screwed it up.
I hope Pokemon Co. sues them for all they're worth. Even if they have stupidly rich supporters a big lawsuit won't help in any real fashion. The only thing that'll get them out of it is because it's a non-profit application, essentially using the same gap that we as fanfiction authors use.
I find it funny that they listed two "Pokemon Experts" in the credits. Said experts must really have a limited viewpoint if they can't see some of the obvious things that they missed. Much like Sara said in the first post and what I mentioned last night.

I hate to say it, but they do have somewhat of a point. It's games like pokemon that tend to foster violence in kids...
Then again, arcades are basically just casinos that are legal for kids, and the generation that grew up on those seems to be doing just fine...
