Oh, how I love the "No Duplicates" rule! In my latest White 2 Nuzlocke (I keep losing my other ones, but I swear to win this one!), I caught a Frillish in Undella Town and a Remoraid in Undella Bay. So, later when I get Route 21, there are only three Pokemon I can catch: Frillish, Remoraid, and freakin' MANTYKE, baby! I LOVE MANTYKE! That was the Pokemon that helped me to beat Marlon when I first played White 2. I'm so glad that I put in the "No Duplicates" rule.

Well, after Marlon annihilated me somehow (He managed to take out my Magnezone and my Samurott with ease), I decided to try another White 2 Nuzlocke, this time with Snivy as my starter. So far, it's been going well, but just now as I was training to battle against Burgh, a Pidove and a Rattata somehow took out my Grimer and my Timburr! I mean, what the heck?

Man, this thread hasn't been used in a while. XD Anyway, I've been really getting back into Nuzlockes again lately. I forgot to tell you guys, but last year, I managed to win one for the very first time, while I was in Japan no less. I even took notes throughout the entire playthrough, so I may make a comic or story at some point. Meaning I can't tell you my winning team just yet. Right now, I'm working on an Alpha Sapphire Nuzlocke I started recently. I just beat the first gym today and I already trained my current team to Level 16 so I can challenge Brawly as soon as I get to Dewford. My reason for doing is this involves Granite Cave. See, the cave was totally redesigned in the remakes. Much of the cave is blocked off until you can get the Mach Bike and ride up a hill, giving you only a small section of the cave to explore as opposed to the original games, where you could access almost all of the cave to begin with. The originals gave you a wide variety of Pokémon to catch throughout the cave, including Makuhita, Zubat, Abra, Geodude, Aron, Mawile/Sableye, and Nosepass. Because of the change, however, you can only find the first four in that small area. The Mach Bike is required to get Aron, Mawile/Sableye, and Nosepass. For those of you who don't know, one of the main Nuzlocke rules is that you can only capture the first Pokémon you encounter in each area. According to the rules, this means I can only capture Makuhita, Zubat, Abra, or Geodude. These aren't bad Pokémon necessarily, but with the latter two, they require trade evolutions, and I'm not sure if that is still possible with the 6th Gen games. Zubat can be useful, but it requires a friendship evolution to get to Crobat, which can take forever. And then Makuhita isn't ideal because I already have a Combusken and a Shroomish. Honestly, Aron would be the most ideal capture of the cave, because it's a Steel/Rock Pokémon that works great against the 5th, 6th, and 7th gyms. Now, I was hoping for you guys' advice. I won't go to the cave until after I beat Brawly, so do you guys think I should just catch the first thing that appears right off the back? Or maybe use a Repel to get to Steven and then come back later after I get the Mach Bike, in case I wanted an Aron or something? Or should I use the Pinwheel Clause and count both sections of the cave as two separate areas and just catch one thing in each part? Speedy_Fox_IV, It's Sky, everyone else, what do you guys think?

Oh man, I haven't done a Nuzlocke in forever. I might have to do another one after I finish my Umbra Moon playthrough. Anyway, as for Granite Cave, I would personally stick to those you can catch on the first time through. Granted the others are nice to have, but then it wouldn't be much of a challenge, eh? Edit: I forgot repels are allowed. If you're not hurting for another Pokemon when you get there, that could work too.

Shouldn't be difficult, considering they leveled him down in this game. In the original games, his Makuhita was Level 18 (Level 19 in Emerald), but it's now only Level 16. Roxanne's Nosepass was Level 14, so I don't really understand the small level difference. Doesn't seem as challenging as it could be. Actually, apparently Wattson's Magneton is only Level 21. It was originally 23 (he had a level 24 Manectric as his ace in Emerald). Weird...
