I will say I’m really excited about this one. It looks so good, and they haven’t even finished all the rendering and stuff yet.
Probably going to play as the female character/Dawn, mainly because I’ve always disliked Lucas’s hat, and Dawn looks way better in this (It’s basically Lucas and Dawn).
I have yet to decide my starter, either. Might go Rowlet or Oshawott, but you can also catch the Sinnoh ones anyway, so who knows? Either way, it looks really good.

Looks nice, can't say much now, part that there be no dex cut, and we can't catch the other regions Starters also.... Then... I'll pick Rowlet or Cyndaquil... Cuz Oshawatt sucks...
EDIT : Plus a Ghost/Grass type is mind-blowing....

Now to the topic, to obtain a Samurott, if you start with Oshawatt it's a waste of time, I agree it'll help you later as Samurott has a nice moveset and Amazing stats but leveling Oshawatt is just crazy... You'll probably just give a Exp share, but it's also slow... On the other hand other two starters are better on this term....

I'm quite surprised they made a game like this, and in conjunction with the Sinnoh remakes too. At this point, I'm pretty sure Game Freak's experimenting with a new format to see if fans will be comfortable with a new way forward or if old habits will indeed die hard. From where I'm standing, I think Legends will be, by and far, the winner of the Nintendo Switch era of Pokémon thus far. It looks SO fresh and slick compared to all the other Switch games! Like a Pokémon version of Breath of the Wild. I AM a little puzzled by the starter roster, though. Did they just run all the starter Pokémon through a random selector tool to get these three, or what?

XD I used Tepig in the 5th Gen games, but I really love all three starters. And honestly, this game doesn’t look like it’s going to be competitive since it will solely be single player. It’s looking like it’s going to be about the exploration and the collection as you make the first PokéDex.

Ohhhhh... Well, they could've done something unique with the Sinnoh starters to make them reflect these motifs (such as an ancient ancestral form or something like that), but I suppose that'll make the remakes redundant, then.

Yes, just to check if fans will like the new format of still the Gym Collection, as some people didn't really like the new animes format.... And yes, the starters aren't really the best available, it's ok that one from each gen, but the best would have been - Treecko Charmander/ Chimchar Frokie As these starters have the biggest fanbase... So it would have helped Pokemon to get more buzz generated before the game realeases...

Well, actually, I need to correct myself. This looks like it takes place in the late Taisho era, which is the early 1900s. It’s based on the Ainu people who lived in Hokkaido, the region of Japan that Sinnoh is based on. I actually found a tweet that gives some info on the starters, too.

I personally don't mind the starter roster, but I feel like they just randomly selected those starters at the moment.

Well, as I said, the starters were chosen based on the time period and location that this game appears to be based off of. And you can still catch all three Sinnoh starters anyway.

I gotta wonder if there's going to be some form and/or special move planned for these starters' final evolved forms that'll reflect the ancient era they're in.
