Well, actually, I need to correct myself. This looks like it takes place in the late Taisho era, which is the early 1900s. It’s based on the Ainu people who lived in Hokkaido, the region of Japan that Sinnoh is based on. I actually found a tweet that gives some info on the starters, too. Ooh, interesting... I gotta wonder if there's going to be some form and/or special move planned for these starters' final evolved forms that'll reflect the ancient era they're in. Maybe, but I think their regular forms work just fine. But the reason why they went Oshawott instead of Froakie is because ninja had basically died out at this point in history. |

Yes, just to check if fans will like the new format of still the Gym Collection, as some people didn't really like the new animes format.... And yes, the starters aren't really the best available, it's ok that one from each gen, but the best would have been - Treecko Charmander/ Chimchar Frokie As these starters have the biggest fanbase... So it would have helped Pokemon to get more buzz generated before the game realeases... I personally don't mind the starter roster, but I feel like they just randomly selected those starters at the moment. Hmmm.... Read Gavin's Post, it explains it all |

Only Mons that you could catch in Diamond and Pearl seem to appear besides the starters. |

When it comes to this game I’m just glad they’re trying something different there’s only so many times you can play the same formula before it got stale and for me Sword and Shield was really stale so I’m excited for this game. I’m also happy they’re finally doing something with Arceus in the games story wise, both Arceus and Zygarde were completely put to the side in the games.
The game needs a lot of work look wise but it’s early so I’m sure it’ll improve plus with another developing helping with the Gen 4 remakes it’d hopefully allow gamefreak to concentrate a bit more on Legends
