Eh, my only thing is that's really boring. There are so many pure Fire and Water-types already. I'd rather they all become dual-typed. i agree with that. i personally want a water something but what would they do is the question. i dont think it should be ice. when you look at it now, none of they types really fit it which i know can change when it evolves It's pretty clown-like. Maybe a Fairy-type like Mr. Mime?

I had a feeling Litten would be popular, especially on here. A lot of the girls like Fire-types, as well as cats, so it was a no-brainer. And honestly, Litten's probably my second favorite. Popplio's okay and I like its design, but I'm just not feeling it, especially after the awesomeness that is Greninja. But usually, ever since 4th Gen (though I never got to play those games), I usually have an idea of who will be my main early on. Turtwig, Tepig, and Froakie all appealed to me immediately. I guess the Grass-Fire-Water is beginning again for me with Rowlet.

XD With fire/dark/steel being my main types, Litten becomes my obvious choice, just like how last game Froakie was my obvious choice for that sweeeeet Water/Dark type. Before that, I was almost always the fire-type guy. Not that I always follow that code, I chose Turtwig in the fourth gen and sometimes Tododile in second gen. But if they want me to choose freely, they need to make the starters feel equal. Like I think the grass starter this time around as a clear, unfair advantage to an island-based region. And with it's base typing of grass/flying, it should be able to hold it's own against most Pokemon in the game, until ice-types start popping up that is. It gets moves to handle Litten and clearly sweeps the seal Pokemon... so I feel like the grass starter is meant more for the newcomers to Pokemon (somehow) or less experienced players. I dunno... I just hope the evolutions don't disappoint me, like Tepig's evolutions did XD.

I just hope the evolutions don't disappoint me, like Tepig's evolutions did XD. I dunno about that. Honestly, after analyzing the gyms in Kalos, Fennekin is the one who is able to manage the easiest. Meanwhile, Chespin has the hardest time. First, you have Viola and her Bug gym, then later we have Korrina with Hawlucha, along with Fairy, Psychic, and Ice gyms back-to-back. Usually, there's a starter that has a clear advantage over the others, both gym-wise and competitively. Last gen, Fennekin took the gyms while Froakie took competitive. However, the Grass starter often has a harder time in both cases, mainly since they have so many weaknesses. Honestly, I would love it if Rowlet broke the trend. Litten is probably my second choice if only because it might become a tiger (unless they decide to humanize the final evos again). Even if it is the "Newcomer starter," I like its design and honestly, that's usually how I pick my favorite Mons, because I think they look cool or cute. Everyone has their own opinion, like while you despised Tepig's evolutions, I loved them.

By the way, nobody has really talked about this yet, but did you all notice we seem to have only one rival again? I'm actually excited about it, because I like his design and having only one or two is better for character development. I liked the rivals in X and Y, but none of them really got the development they needed. They weren't fully fleshed out.

Not to mention Lugia and Ho-Oh. I agree with you on the repetitiveness, but since I never played Gen 4, the third Fire/Fighting starter didn't bother me. If anything, I liked Emboar's bulk over Blaziken and Infernape.

I own 3 cats m8, anything that would have looked more like a skarmory or a cat would have been an insta grab. xD And for the seal. i hope he gets like water psychic and is the bulkier one of the bunch. he just looks like the type to do tricks with psyching magic and water. The owl can stay so, keep its weakness, in memory of dedwig.

By the way, the Professor of this game seems to be called Kukui. Kukui is another name for a Candlenut plant, which is interesting. He's the guy you meet over the computer, which leads me to believe our character is moving to the Alola region. Also, a man named Hala is the one who gives us our starter.
