Misty would be the number one result if a poll was released like that. There is no questions asked, because there are too many nostalgia blind fanboys and fangirls.

I know, that's what I'm afraid of. For example, the Bulbagarden poll about the topic, May scored 3rd (2nd if you don't count "Other"), whereas Misty scored twice the amount the votes. On the bright side, May scored twice the amount of Dawn's votes, and Dawn had twice the amount of Iris' votes

First of all i hated what they did in the Black and White series with Ash, Ash didn't looked and acted like the Ash i once knew.
And if they going to cut out Ash why not one last region or revist a region (i prefer Kanto) and let him win the pokemon league and then start with a new protagonist that will do honor to the character itself and closes his Chapter for which many of us have followed. wouldn't mind an Advanceshipping ending of his chapter as well.

^ One of the main problems I have with Black and White is the backtracking. Following Ash's obviously gained matury and mentoring throughout Advanced Generation and Diamond and Pearl, the writers felt obligated to remind the audience that Ash is still a young, immature 10 year old. Now that irritates me, but it'd still make Black and White watchable. The thing I hate about it is that they made Ash a complete idiot. In the second episode of the series, he asks Pikachu to use both Thunderbolt and Volt Tackle on him, even though Pikachu just got supercharged by a thunderstorm created by Zekrom. I stopped watching there. The same person who taught May and Dawn (who had become excellent cooridinators, probably some of the best, at the time) had been transformed into an immature idiot, while also given two older traveling partners for Ash who take the mentoring role, when Ash doesn't need that and it was a clear attempt to bring pleasure to the nostalgic fanboys (Misty and Brock). You can't do that here and now!
To summarize, there is no reason the writers made Ash lose maturity other than the fact they wanted to appeal to the nostalgic audience. So unless Ash stumbled across the Internet, then it doesn't make sense to me.

^A definite yes. Thats probably the biggest reason why I am not a fan of it, and calling it atrocious.

Over at animebyt.es, somebody posted a thread about this. OLM, the animation studio for pokmon and Nintendo themselves recently made an announcement about this, where an anonymous person translated it. Post below is directly taking from the forum post over at Animebytes. Translation of OLM and Nintendo's announcement (found on /vp/) below: anonymous translator wrote: We at OLM Incorporated have recently run into a creative corner with Pokemon. The writers feel unattached to the show itself and we also have accepted the fact that the adventure needs to end. Now, I am not talking about the end of Pokemon itself, but the end of Ash's journey. Ash has entered the hearts of millions of people around the world with his positive attitude, but his importance in the show has marginalized. Just as Misty had to leave, and Brock as well, Ash must depart the Pokemon anime. This is not because anyone hates Ash, but because many love him. We want his departure to not be one of a dying elder, but one of a young man that will still live on in the hearts of all his fans. So, Ash will be leaving the series and we will introduce a new protagonist, and hopefully he'll be just as loved as Ash is today. I'm not by my computer right now, so looking for any confirmation about this is quite hard. What are your thoughts about this? If this is true, and only if, I'd say that this will be very interesting. It seems like they've finally decided to do something real. And to that, I applaud. First of all: i.qkme.me/35wks2.jpgSecond of all: I'm not buying this rumor, as much as others wanted this to happen since Johto, but really, it'll feel to sudden to have Ash's journey to end like that. If this is true to what the writers had felt about the show then I am really disappointed since what the H were they trying to accomplish for Best Wishes all this time? Sure they confirmed Ash's age, and given back his OS personality, they actually made TR into a threat....the sidekicks have been given goals and rivals, not to mention they're really interesting, damn rite alot interesting. Also Ash was given 3 starters + having a team more than 6 (a total of 10 Pokemon) but to everyone's complaints, the Pokemon were treated poorly esp. the reserves since the writers are obsessed on milking out the starters (until one of them evolved). Another complaint was the lack of Team Plasma which I sorta agree since it would been better esp. the first meeting at Accumula and Tepig storyline would been done better... Seriously writers, if you wanted to end Ash's journey then, end it good....T_T Sorry for my rant...but I'm still not 100 percent on this...

I agree with Tomboy. Honestly, though, I don't care much about the anime unless AS is involved, or one of Ash's better pokemon evolve.

I don't buy this. Wasn't there an interview from a while back that said Ash would never leave the anime?

OMG WHAT. THIS CAN'T BE. HE CAN'T LEAVE WITHOUT MY OTP GOING CANON. (going to share feelings on tumblr now)
but-but i kinda expected this. After that animated BW2 trailers alot, i mean A FUCKING LOT wanted the show to be in that style and that badass (cmon, the trailer was more badass in 5mins then Ash was in 15 season. Just saying). But i'm sure Ash will make a cameo in the show if this rumour is proven to be true.
So many mixed feelings. So so many... but like many rumours in pokemon, this will probably end up false.

I really hope that they don't cut Ash out! I mean, I want them to at least age him up a bit and get him together with May!

They cant get him out, most market products involve him and pikachu, besides do we even have a clear picture of what a Master really is? And that IS his dream

Do they even know what assert is? I think. They just promote the term so people buy all the games, become masters and feel good until the next game cmes out the show is just used to promote new material now I feel They don't give a fuck about ash anymore
