This idea came to me as part of a Facebook post. The gist of it is, if a high school existed which was staffed by the various Gym Leaders, who would hold which position? Examples would include the principal, the deans, janitors, coaches, and teachers of various subjects.
This got me wondering what your opinions on this would be. With nearly 60 gym leaders out there, do you think we could come up with an occupation for each and every one?
A complete list of all 75 known Gym Leaders:
Kanto: Brock Misty Lt. Surge Erika Koga Janine Sabrina Blaine Giovanni Blue
Orange Islands: Cissy Danny Rudy Luana Drake
Johto: Falkner Bugsy Whitney Morty Chuck Jasmine Pryce Clair
Hoenn: Roxanne Brawly Wattson Flannery Norman Winona Tate & Liza Wallace/Juan
Sinnoh: Roark Gardenia Maylene Crasher Wake Fantina Byron Candice Volkner
Unova: Lenora (Replaced by Cheren) Cilan, Chili, Cress (Replaced by Roxie) Burgh Elesa Clay Skyla Brycen (Replaced by Marlon) Drayden/Iris
Kalos: Viola Grant Korrina Ramos Clemont Valerie Olympia Wulfric

Specific Subjects
Erika for Botany Brock for Petrology Roark/Byron for Geology Misty for Swimming Maylene for Martial Arts Fantina for Ballet/French Bugsy for Entomology Lt. Surge for Physical Education Roxanne for Mathematics Wallace for Visual Arts Clemont for Information Technology Roxie for Music Viola for Photography Koga/Janine for Japanese/Chemistry
I have no idea yet for non-specialist positions (e.g. Principal, counselor) Janitors? That's insulting.
Any ideas for History?
Just asking, why not include Elite Fours & Champions?

Just asking, why not include Elite Fours & Champions? I suppose we could include them if you want. Maybe the Orange League leaders too? And how is being a janitor insulting? I'm a janitor, and I think I've got the coolest job in the world.

Brycen could be either the Performing Arts or Videography teacher.
I can see Pryce and Ramos being that awesome custodian duo, with the latter specializing in gardening (Keeping the school's exterior looking nice.)
In a twist from the stereotypical "monotone maths teacher", I think it would be humorous to see Skyla or Korrina as the peppy new hire whom the kids actually enjoy learning from.
And of course, the Striaton Triplets would be the three cooking teachers.
I'll think of more soon.

TEACHERS:
-Brock and Roxanne for Petrology. -Misty for Marine Biology. She can also be the coach of the swimming team. -Lt. Surge for JROTC. -Erika, Gardenia, and Ramos for Botany. -Koga for Japanese. -Falkner, Winona, and Skyla for Meteorology. -Bugsy, Burgh, and Aaron for Entomology. -Whitney can be that sweet, pretty, ditsy substitute teacher. XD -Chuck, Dewford, and Norman for Physical Education. They can also be the coaches of the football team. -Jasmine, Maylene, and Brycen for Martial Arts. -Pryce can be that tough, emotionless substitute teacher. -Roxanne for Mathematics. -Flannery can be the new, clumsy teacher, although I'm not sure which subject she could teach, though. -Wallace for Visual Arts. -Roark, Byron, and Clay for Geology. -Crasher Wake and Marshal can be the coaches for the wrestling team. -Fantina for French. She can also be the coach for the ballet team. -Morty, Bertha, and Lenora for History. -Lucian for Language Arts. -Roxie for Medicinal Studies. -Marlon can be the assistant coach for the swimming team. -Viola for Photography. -Clemont for Information Technology. -Lorelei for Philosophy. -Will, Wikstrom, and Siebold for Drama. -Caitlin for Fashion. -Alexa for Journalism. (I know Alexa isn't a Gym Leader, but she DOES fit the role perfectly!)
ADMINISTRATION:
-Drasna would be a secretary. (Not sure why, it just fits for her.) -Flint would be the campus supervisor. -Lance and Steven would be the assistant principals. -Malva would also be an assistant principal, but quite the scheming type... -The principal would be Cynthia. (I think the role definitely suits her.) -Alder would be the superintendent.
Can we do students too? 'Cause I have a lot of things in mind...

Maybe we can discuss how the students would fare. For students probably the anime or Pokemon Adventures characters.
E.g. Crystal & Platinum would be the A-students. They could even help the teachers. Gold would be the dropout type.

Yeah, let's do it! Here's my view on how the students should be organized:
-Ash can be the unpopular student at first, but starts to establish his place in the school. -May can be an unpopular student as well. -Serena can be Ash's childhood friend, but then ditches him in favor of the popular clique. -Dawn can be the most popular girl in school and the leader of the popular clique. -Drew can be the rich, snobby guy. -Gary can be Dawn's boyfriend who is essentially her backup muscle when people try to stand up to her. -Trip can be the all-out jerk of the popular clique. -Paul can be the least popular student in the entire school, and a rather emo, quiet person. -Cilan can be the misfit of his more popular triplets Cress and Chili, and also Ash's friend. -Iris can be the weird girl who no one likes to interact with (which is beneficial of sorts since the bullies wouldn't wanna touch her either). -Bianca can be just like Iris, but only wilder and much weirder.
That's all I've got right now.

That's an easy one--just take out most of the drama. *Metaphorical audience gasps* Yeah, I said it. Nice and simple solution... but there's one flaw. How to make the story interesting without the drama. One of the solutions is to make the story focused, keep the main character to one or two at maximum. Probably Ash & May. Make the story revolve around them. However that is not enough. The plot is also important.

Throwing in sci-fi, fantasy, and action is the best medicine for a high-school genre story.
