Sounds like my kind of chapter. I always enjoy it when SRPGs get you to switch things up a bit for a map.

Sorry I didn't see this yesterday.
Anyways, I really do like pursuit missions. Being chased or chasing something is pretty cool when the pacing is right.

Fuck. I already posted that.
Leaving this lying for so long is messing with me now.
I'll delete this one and be back with a proper update.

Okay, turns out I skipped one support conversation episode. Speedy_Fox_IV Yoh ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) MarksmanSo here it is: Kris-Luke 1
Hah! Haah! You, Captain Kris! Hm? Are you training alone? Yes, it’s pretty much a habit now. Man, you’re pretty crazy. You’re already so skilled, I’m sure you can afford a breather. no, I can’t. I’d die of shame if I failed to protect Prince Marth because I lacked skill. I see... You do have a point. Alright! Then, Captain Kris, duel with me. What’s gotten into you all of a sudden? I’ll train with you. We’ll have a competition to see who finished first. Are you alright? I thought you hated training. Looking at you, I figured I couldn’t allow myself to stay in your shadow. I’m Prince Marth’s knight, too. For his sake, I’ll become much stronger! I see. Luke, my opinion of you has slightly risen now Heh. Captain Kris, don’t fall in love with me! Oh, I wouldn’t worry about that. Hey, what’s that supposed to mean? Kris-Rody 1
Hahh, hahh… What’s going on? What are you doing here? Ah! Uh, no-nothing… What’s that paper you’re holding? …It’s a rough map of the area. I thought it would be a smart idea to take a look around. …And you got lost. That reminds me, you got lost once during our apprentice days, didn’t you? I did. I caused trouble for you guys back then… Don’t you have any sense of direction? Come on, let’s head back. Sir Jagen is looking for you. Say, Rody. If you look at my map, where exactly are we, now? …I don’t think that map is of this area. Kris: …

"If your body hurts, heal it with training." - Kris, that's literally one of the worst things you can do to your body.
Like seriously, that will injure you pretty severely.
What kinda logic is that.
Edit: Wait that was the old episode.
More training, got it.
People really like training in the series. It's actually kinda concerning now that I think about it.

Yeah, training, training, training. That's all anyone ever does. Especially Kris. Even if Kris is a cleric or curate that can't fight.

Hard Mode Up until this point, I had been playing on Normal Mode. But Normal Mode turned out to be far easier than I remembered and I wasn’t having any fun. So after chapter 8, the last proper main story chapter LP I put up, I switched to Hard Mode. I basically played the whole game over again, sticking to the same characters and every chapter henceforth is also played on Hard Mode. So what does Hard Mode change? Quite a few things, aside from obviously buffing the stats of enemies. The enemy AI behaves better in general. Some bosses that would normally have stayed put on NM now move in HM. The enemies in general are naturally stronger. And most importantly, enemy reinforcements arrive at the start of enemy phase instead of at the end of enemy phase. This may not seem to make much difference but it completely changes how you play the game. What does it actually mean? Well, when enemy reinforcements arrive at the start of the enemy phase, they can move immediately instead of having to stay still until the next enemy phase. This means you have to be much more vary of enemy reinforcements and keep a close vigil on typical reinforcement zones like forts. The enemies can emerge behind you and immediately attack the frail units that were at the back, usually killing them. The Fire Emblem community hates this mechanic and dubs it “Ambush Spawning”. I generally don’t like it but I do feel some games do it well enough. The way this game does it is all over the place. Once we get to endgame, you’ll see why Ambush Spawning is worth all the trouble you caused for the significance it provides both in story and gameplay during the endgame. By the way, the original Mystery of the Emblem had ambush spawning. So what changed in this new playthrough? I will basically recap anything I felt was important. It's not much since we're still early in the game. But still. Rumel, the boss of chapter 2, moves off his thrown on Hard Mode, just like he did in the original. This changes how the chapter has to be played as no one except a mage Kris can take him by himself. Getting the Lady Sword from the thief also becomes a much more significant challenge as he wanders into Rumel's range on his way out. I reclassed Kris to a Cleric so she won't be able to brute force throught the chapters in the early game. In chapter 4, Yubello and Yumina cannot deal with the thief on their own. Your only recourse is to either rescue someone or have Ogma deal with, delaying Sirius' recruitment and potentially getting swarmed by the bandits. It isn't too big of a deal but it's worth noting. Taking on the bridge guarded by knights and ballisticians in chapter 5 is a much more daunting task as they now hit very hard and are more accurate. It might be in your interest to just take the long way around. Marth will need a bigger escort on his way to this village as the Dracoknights along the way are suddenly very dangerous. And you still need to be fast to prevent the village's destruction by the incoming thief. There was nothing worth noting in chapters 6 and 7 and the bonus chapters so moving on to chapter 8, Hardin gets a +4 (!) to all his stats except luck and magic which remain unchanged and a +12 (!!!) to his HP. Of course, it doesn't matter right now because he was immune to damage on NM and still is so you shouldn't be fighting him. If you're not fast enough and he gets to attack you, then his 24 speed will ensure that he'll double everyone. I think an early promoted Palla/Catria or Kris in the right class can avoid being double but they likely won't have the defence to survive a hit anyway so yeah, you're still fucked. His speed also means that Marth with maxed out speed cannot double him. Since the whole story is about Marth vs Hardin and I'm going to keep to that, this presents a few problems. I believe Hardin and all the enemies also start moving one turn earlier than on NM but I'm not sure. That's all for any significant differences. I fucked up with a proper update so have two small updates instead. Speedy_Fox_IV Yoh ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Marksman

Was it necessary to change Kris at all to a cleric? I never once considered that a viable option.

Oh wow. Kris was savage at the end of that support she had with Luke. XD ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°): I think that was him temporarily nerfing Kris so that he had more of a challenge.

Was it necessary to change Kris at all to a cleric? I never once considered that a viable option. As mentioned, one reason was to nerf Kris in the early game. The second reason is that I was going with Mage anyway and leveling up Kris' staff rank is always a good idea.
