No, he couldn't be twelve. Like I said before, since Ash is ten in Best Wishes and he met a woman from Kalos in the Decolora Islands, he wouldn't wait two whole years to go to Kalos. In that case, if Ash even aged at all, he would be eleven. However, it's highly unlikely that Ash has aged at all.

I'd have to say that Ralts he saved, Shroomish, Taillow, Mareep, Poliwag, and Vulpix. Of course, some of them would evolve, like Ralts and Poliwag, but to start I think he'd only have first stage evolutions.

As for Max, he might have Ralts(if he keeps his promise unlike ASH), Treeko(I believe he once said how he wanted one to be like Ash), and I like what Dev added in there. He might get one of the Slakoth evolutions from Norman as well.

They never actually stated that Ash had a birthday. They only said that a year had passed since he and Pikachu first met. They officially stated in Best Wishes that he's still ten.
