I surprised nobody made this thread. Anyways, this is about anything have to do with like episodes, cards, toys, etc.... Some of them are really stupid as my opinion. So what you all thought about this banned Pokemon stuff?

I saw a list of banned episodes once, thing is I think I've seen like 3 or 4 of them on Boomerang xD

I've seen a few episodes that were banned like the Safari Zone one where they see a Dratini evolve into Dragonair and where Ash caught all of those Tauros. Then there was the Porygon one that was supposed to cause seizures. Didn't affect me one bit.

They blame Porygon, so that's why he and his evolution family aren't ever in the anime. Although, Pikachu was the one that technically caused the bright lights that generated the seizures, but since he's Pokémon's mascot, he couldn't be blamed. So, Porygon became the fall guy.

Then, there was the Jynx incident, which resulted in it being turned purple, but even it returned to the anime. Dratini and Dragonair as well. Poor Porygon and its evolutions were shunned away.

I actually want Porygon to return the anime. That seizures part doesn't effect against me. Same for Safari Zone episode. THEY COULD JUST EDITED OUT THAT FREAKING GUN!!!!! What are they thinking about putting a James boob and the gun?

I think some of the bans were very exaggerated, a simple edit could've fixed everything.

Well, part of it was that Japanese kids usually learn about violence at an earlier age than American kids do. However, it was the fact that the gun was pointed at kids' heads that got it banned. Plus, if it was edited out, then the shot would have probably looked pretty stupid.
In the case of Porygon, 600 kids had seizures, which is a pretty significant number, so imagine how many American kids could have possibly been affected.

I don't get why Beauty and the Beach was banned. I know it was later released as a 'special' episode, but why ban it in the first place? The only bad thing is the whole boob thing, and that is freaking hilarious. Plus they edited it out later, so why didn't they just do that in the first place?

Plus lots of American cartoons that kids watch have lots of twisted material and I don't see them getting banned. |
