I guess I'm weird in the fact that I buy a console to play games that I'm interested in instead of caring for the specs of the console. Specs are what makes a console too. It's a reason why Pokken is only 30fps unless you get two Wii Us for 60fps. It's a reason why 3rd Party Companies don't port over their games to the Wii U like The Division and Dark Souls 3. Specs matter just as much now. I knew what I was getting into when I got the Wii U; I knew it was going to be a Nintendo machine. However, even then, the criticisms of it are still valid - why did Nintendo fork over so much for a gimmick that jumped the price of the Wii U by $100 and made them lose money for every unit sold? They've never sold anything for a loss before until the 3DS and Wii U, but the 3DS bounced back and became the best selling console this generation. The Wii U flopped harder than Ghostbuster's Remake trailer. If they had at least used an x86 architecture CPU and at LEAST 4GB RAM on their console, I guarantee that they wouldn't have had such issues. They still would have had the worst looking ports, but it's something than waiting for Watch_Dogs to come out with nothing on it and looking worse than a PS3 title. And yes, Nintendo made some of the most gorgeous games on the Wii U, but obviously cut backs happened. MK8 had to reduce framerate from 60fps to 30 when doing split screen with more than 2 people. Xenoblade Chronices X has severe amount of pop ins, reduced textures, reduced lighting, etc from the initial E3 trailer we had with the song "They Key We Lost." Hell, the Wii U can't even do game installations so they had make downloadable patches to ensure the game runs smoothly and it still has those issues. Pokken, yet again. Smash Bros takes forever if you have the patches installed, like 45 seconds every time and it's annoying. I'm not saying specs are the most important thing, but you have to realize that they do help a console out with the games. If a game runs like shit because of the console not being able to handle it, then it's both the developer's fault for not optimizing and for the console manufacturer for not making the process easier. This happened with the PS3 where the development was abysmal for the first 3 years and every game ran worse than the Xbox 360. If the Wii U had at least on par specs to the PS4 or Xbox One, it would have had a much larger library of games.

The psp and many smartphones are more powerful than it. And the 3d effect shouldn't even be an excuse, come on now. I know then new3ds improves on this but still. You can still be creative and have great games without a powerful machine, but it having something with more under the hood gives you more flexibility.

So in other news, I finished up EarthBound the other day. It was interesting because I always thought that they just kinda dropped some of the PSI skills from EarthBound Beginnings but in this play through I noticed that they turned those skills into items for Jeff. I was still able to use some of my strategies from Beginnings in EarthBound.

I saw spoilers for the new Kirby game. It can't come out fast enough in English for me. I really need to play this game now.

Heh sorry for quoting an old post but earthbound is probably my favorite rpg, the memories of grinding for those 1/128 items xd I have yet to play Mother 3, but I'll make time one day and find a sub since it'll probably never be ported to NA
