I am heavily pleased with the comments people posted to the thread.
To people who were curious, I put Giovanni, Prof. Oak, and Silver as choices for the poll because there were many debates as to whether that particular character was Ash's father or not.
If Ash does meet his father, what would be the circumstances of their meeting?

I want it to be Giovanni, but I think Ash looks a lot like Oak and I think Oak is kinda like his dad in all but blood.

No, I really don't think that Oak should be his dad. I mean, for one, that would make Ash's Gary's uncle or something, and I'm not sure if their interactions with one another don't suggest an uncle-nephew relationship. So, that's my opinion on it. Plus, Ash's mom said in one of the earliest episodes that Ash's dad was still out on his journey, so it can't be Oak.

I think that screenshot that Pichu posted was nothing but a random dude. I think Ash says it himself in one of the DP episodes.
I voted some other dude after watching that ep where Ash gets kidnapped by Giovanni. Still, I really would love if Giovanni was Ash's father. Imagine how high the ratings would go if it was confirmed. -fangirls-

Fanfiction style: Ash is upset with his Dad for leaving him and his mother and so on and so on. Drama kind of stuff.

Completely romanticized, but here it goes:
Ash becomes the champion of [insert 50th region he goes to] and finds out his father is the champion of ANOTHER region. So, he goes to fight him to show how strong he has gotten. Ash's father is impressed and gives up his championship to his son, so Ash becomes the champion of two regions or some B.S. like that. They return home to a happy, teary-eyes Delia as she hugs her husband, welcoming home.
Like I said, COMPLETELY romanticized.

I could kind of see that, but I imagine that Ash's dad has to be the toughest trainer that Ash has ever faced. Not sure why, but I can just see it.

He might as well be. If he's been on his journey since he was 10 and left to pursue it again, after Ash's birth, he must either be one of the strongest trainers or he must be so pathetic that Youngster Joey and his "top percentage" Rattata could defeat him.
