I can't wait to see what Ash's team is going to be. Since he has Froakie and Fletchling, that takes care of the Water, Fire, and Flying Pokémon he usually gets with three more spaces for a Grass Pokémon and two more Pokémon. I'm not sure on the two other Pokémon since there's only two new Ground-types and Clemont has the only one that isn't a legendary.
As for the Grass-type, I have a few ideas on what it could be:
First off, since it looks like Clemont's catching Chespin, that option's out. If he catches a Kalos Grass-type, he might catch a Skiddo, a Phantump, or a Pumpkaboo. Out of the three of those, Skiddo seems the most likely, but we'll see.
Now, if he was to catch a Grass-type from a previous gen that can be found in Kalos, there's a few other possibilities. I could see him catching a Budew/Roselia, an Oddish, a Ferroseed, a Leafeon, or a Snover. Personally, I'd like to see if catch a Leafeon or a Snover if he doesn't catch a Kalos Grass-type.
Finally, I have one other option that's pretty unlikely. Last anime saga, Ash's Charizard came back, so I wonder if maybe they could bring Bulbasaur back and evolve him up to a Venusaur for a Mega-Evolution. Again, this is pretty unlikely, so don't call me out for even suggesting it. Anyway, what do you guys think?

Personally a Lucario and Garchomp. Though its EXTREMELY unlikely Maybe not so much on the Lucario. There's a Mega Lucario in the opening while Mega Blaziken doesn't appear. Plus, in the games, the player character befriends one of Korrina's Lucario because of an aura connection. Perhaps the same could happen in the anime? But yeah, highly doubt the Garchomp.

I've seen people on Serebii who agree that Ash might be getting a Lucario (and therefore its MegaEvolution) in the anime. If that is so, then Ash is more of a BOSS THAN EVER! My faith will be completely RESTORED! Speaking of Serebii, I've also seen some rumors regarding the saga, specifically its new director: 1) The plot will be much darker than any of the previous sagas. 2) The characters ACTUALLY AGED BY THE TIME OF THIS SAGA! I hope these rumors are true...

I highly doubt the aging part because Ash left immediately after he got home for Kalos. I don't think it took him very long to fly to Kalos.

Anyway, what do you guys think? if they do this they just messed with the original series again. there was an episode or 2 about bulbasuar and how it doesn't want to evolve and it kept stopping itself from evolving. if he evolves now that episode is just pointless
