I dislike the fact that they confirmed Ash's age personally.

Now, yes I'm surprised Ash is still 10. But that's irrelevant, I would've liked it if they kept his age secret except that he STARTED his journey at age 10 and left his growth to speculation along with other things like shipping. I mean I really felt he aged and grew during AG, and it turns out he didn't in Unova =/

lol, yeah, Pikachu has been declared one of Ash's most overpowered Pokemon, yet he loses to an inexperienced starter...

I agree with the Pikachu comment. In terms of Ash's age: in the mini-movie at the beginning of the third movie, Ash and Pikachu celebrated their anniversary. This suggests that every three seasons a year has passed. So how the hell is he still 10?! O_o

Well if you add on the fact that according to the anime novelization Ash started his journey 10 months and 10 days after his 10th birthday so as of Unova he would sadly be just over 13. In one sense that's quite the accomplishment to travel all that way by foot in about two years.

I always did hate the aging thing with the anime...

As for Pikachu, he loses horribly almost every new season. They try to put it down to him not being used to the new Pokemon but even when I start a new generation game I can beat most Pokemon I don't know until I find one that's immune. So even with shear luck he should destroy newbies.
