Tbh, I kind of wish May traveled with Brock and Ash to Sinnoh instead of Dawn in DP. I liked Dawn, but I personally think DP would be a lot better with May (and Max, possibly). Dawn would appear in some episodes, while May would be a main character. I honestly don't see why not (May would decline Drew's offer to go to Johto, and go to SInnoh instead).

P.S Don't worry everyone, once I get a time machine I'll add more AS hints, get rid of Drew, and bring May and Max to DP. AS will be dominant.

I sort of agree with your idea, however I think it'd be the best if Dawn and May both traveled with Ash. Sinnoh is Dawn's game region after all, so it's essential to have her in the anime. May being there is simply a fan's dream that couldn't come true.
