There still isn't much info on the Fairy-type though. Rumor has it that Poison and Steel will be able to beat it, but no confirmation as of yet.

...As long as it makes sense...?
Poison does need an upgrade, though.

Bro, Talonflame (the bird in the screenshot) totally looks like an evolution of Fletchling.

so these are so rumors from Pokebeach
Fairy will be a new type. It is weak to Poison and Steel, immune to Dragon, super effective against Dragon, Dark, and Fighting, and Fire and Psychic-type Pokemon take half damage from it.
Sylveon is Fairy-type. Some older Pokemon will be reclassified to Fairy, such as Mawile (Steel/Fairy).
These line up with the currently released info, so the rest may be true as well.

Offical art for new pokemon Ooh, I'm liking Talonflame. I know. Dude, if this is coming from our stereotypical bird Pokemon, I am content.

Well, it looks like it's an evolution of Fletchling, the Karos Region's main bird Pokemon, so if Fletchling becomes a Fire-type and Ash always catches the bird, that means that he hopefully won't catch Fennekin! Yes!
