Hmm.. I've done lots of personality tests... and I usually get Air or Water. Here's some personalities for each of the elements if it's hard to choose. XD Air: With a enthusiasm for fun, laughter and a life detached from worldly concerns, you find your perfect niche as a bender of the element of air. Encompassing a social and lively spirit, you – like your element – thrive off freedom and to constantly experience of new things. Air is a fast and pliable energy, and while capable of destructive offense close range, it is a predominantly defensive power, used to deflect and dispel – very much like your preference to avoid confrontations and keep the peace. Water: As someone who is capable of adapting to many things, and feels strongly toward family, harmony and a sense of community, your strength lies in the element of water. While powerful and deadly, water is also a subduing energy, and one of healing. It is a steady balance of offense and defence, and is heightened further by its power to repair and nourish. Earth: As for those who feel predominantly governed by strength stability, and a sense of duty, will find that their bending skills lies in the element of earth. Diverse, persistent and enduring, you will is as faithful and unshakable as the ground beneath your feet, and when change is required, it's evident and influential just like your bending skills! Earth is a powerful element, strong in both offense and defence, although its one failing lies in its lack of speed and agility. Fire: Those who have a strong sense of desire, ambition and discipline will find that their strength lies in the element of fire. Fire is also a discordant and unpredictable force, which may be reflected in your tendencies toward strong emotions and egoistic attitude. Fire is a powerful element, almost fully offensive; a perfect reflection of those who have the will and energy to achieve what they want.

I'd be dangerous as a Firebender, my temper would get the better of me and I'd just keep setting people on fire when they annoy me.

I was looking through Aquadrop's bender personality section above, and a thought came to me--those seem to be loosely similar to the separations of some of the color code personality tests. In fact, the personality type colors seem to match up with the colors commonly associated with each bending nation. Air: Yellow--Fun, outgoing. Water: Blue--Emotional, adaptable. Fire: Red--Orderly, impulsive. Earth: Green (More commonly white, but green is used as well.)--Stable, somewhat withdrawn. ...Okay, so it's not a perfect match, but it's interesting to note, no?

A thought:
In Aang's era, Lavabending was depicted as being an Avatar-only ability, only being used by Kyoshi, Roku and another fire Avatar. (Zuko used it as well, but that was non-canon.) The thought at the time was that Lavabending was accomplished by combining earth and fire. In Korra's era, however, it is considered a specialized form of Earthbending, and is seen used by Ghazan and Bolin.
Now, something about it being an Earthbending skill never really sat right with me until I realized something. Since his brother Mako is a Firebender, and we know he has some degree of Fire Nation heritage, Bolin has both Earthbending and Firebending genes. Obviously the Earthbending aspect is dominant, and is the only bending skill which he can fully exercise, but could it be possible that the additional presence of the dormant Firebending genes is what gives him the potential for Lavabending?
Maybe this is just another off-the wall theory, but if it has any merit, the possibilities could be interesting.
