Jack - Well you'll have to keep us up with how you're doing with it. As with any Pokemon game the difficulty isn't too bad but each choice can make it interesting. Starlighz - I haven't built up one myself but it is, as you said, viable for tournament play, even if 100 base SpAtk isn't overly uncommon. The real problem is that it's a glass cannon and you can't really swap it in on many Pokemon. Biggest change that I would probably make to your moveset though is to use Thunderbolt instead of Thunder, unless you have it already raining. While Thunder is more powerful that hit to the accuracy is always a pain and shows its head at the most inopportune times. Maybe even give up Nasty Plot for Brick Break or Focus Punch if you worry about Blissey. The Light Orb doubles its attack as well after all, and while it's not STABed Pikachu does have a slightly better base attack than special attack. Yeah, I think thunderbolt might be better, though I think I should keep nasty plot. Since I EVed my Pikachu on Sp.Attack and Speed his attack is something to laugh at. His Sp.Attack is somewhere around 200+, so using nasty plot right after substitute would bring it's special attack to 600+ if Pikachu is holding a light ball. |

True, but as I said it would mostly be for Blissey and maybe another Special Sponge. You would have to conut on a maxed SpAtk stat just to hope to beat Blissey that way. Her defense is even worse than Pikachu's attack, but has more than enough SpDef to soak up almost anything Pikachu, or virtually any other special sweeper for that matter, can dish out. And depending on your nature it shouldn't be too bad compared to everything else. Of course the natural reaction would be to swap out, which would give them a free attack. So in the end almost every special sweeper has to consider what they will do when they see her, kinda like Skarmory for the physical sweepers.
But while I have my own views I also can't say that there is much wrong with your ideas overall. I've even built up an Eevee to lvl 100 for no real reason except to have it. I know it wouldn't be of any use in a tournament but it was still fun to say that I did.

Yeah, you're right, but nasty plot is just really good with my moveset. I guess for stuff like blissy, there is always grass knot  |

So, in between, levelling up, I'm doing the Pokestar Studios movies. The strange endings are awesome. My favourite one was in Invaders 1 where the protagonists offers their help to the invaders and becomes their mouthpeice.
Overall, this is the best Pokemon game since Emerald and leagues ahead of Black and White.

I overestimated the Elite 4. I roflstomped over them. Even Marshal didn't stand a chance against my mad skillz.
Lucario and Starmie were the MVPs.

I think most players trained too much before they took on the Top 4
Actually, my Flareon defeated 3 of the Top four members alone
Arcanine defeated the rest on its own
I didn't even need Eevee, Lucario and so on
It was disappointing

It took me a try or two. Only because my Mantine, Zangoose, and Pikachu weren't strong enough at first. Then Iris was stronger than I expected and I only defeated her after a lucky dodge by my Flygon. Reminds me of my battle with Ghetsis where Haxorus had a lucky dodge.

A Pikachu without Volt Tackle is a failure at life. Pikachu is frail already. It doesn't care about recoil since any move will KO it anyway.

At least that time there was an excuse but this time there was no real reason. For me FLygon and Scrafty absolutely slaughtered everyone but Haxorus, and even then it was because it got a Dragon Dance off and took out those two, but I still had two others about that level who finished the job. Nice team overall though. Although you obviously has the same problem with Serperior that Gengar and I had. |

I did almost screw up against Iris because I wanted to give every team member one battle and Serperior nearly lost me the match. That was more due to my mistake then Iris being difficult.
