I first learned what Pokémon was when I was in the first grade and saw that everyone in class had the trading cards. Not long afterwards my parents started buying me my own cards. After I had the cards, that's when I learned about the games and then the TV series.
What about everyone else?

Well, when I was younger, I used to live in Texas, and we didn't have very many TV channels. Then, one day, as I was flipping through the few channels we had, I saw the opening theme song, followed by the episode where they have to escape the sinking S.S. Anne. After that, I learned more about it, got the Cards, Yellow Version, a Gameboy Color, and more. I was hooked.

I first found a small pokemon sticker book made for the first generation. Some stickers were already gone, and it was like "Who's that pokemon".
Eventually,I watched the episode for when Ash and his friends are in saffron city.
Then, I watched a few episodes of the advanced generation. Finally, my friend got me and my brother hooked onto the sapphire version.

The yeaar was 1998. It was the year that I had just started school. I noticed that a lot of the kids kept on playing this game. They called it Pokemon. Luckily for me one of my friends owned Pokemon blue and he showed me the basics of the game. Later on in the year I was watching the Ten network early in the moring to catch all of the kid shows when Pokemon made it's appearance. I have been watching the series ever since. I only got a Gameboy (and advance to be exact) in 2001 though and even then it was another year beofre I got my own Pokemon game. Pokemon Sapphire. I had to share my Gameboy Advance my brother who happened to have both Pokemon Red and Pokemon Gold.

My brother first showed me the episode where Ash catches a Caterpree! XD lol, that was my first episode. I hadn't even watched the first epi till years later, lmao. xD But yeah, after that, I got hooked.  |

My big brother brought me and my younger brother to the movies to wathc the very first Pokemon movie. I instantly fell in love with the show. After that my mother borrowed movies from the movie store to watch the early episodes of Kanto. I fell off the bandwagon in late primary school but got back in year 9.
Me and my brother have been watching the anime, playing the cards and getting the games ever since. Actually watched a few BW episodes with him yesterday. xD

Anne was one of my first episodes too! Anyway, I don't know why, but I just borrowed a VHS video from the local library. Fell in love with it ever since!  |

Waaaay back in first grade I needed a show to watch before school in the mornings...I never liked Magic School Bus, so I opted for pokemon. After first grade though, I really didn't watch it until fourth grade, where I watched the Advanced Battle series every morning. I was then hooked and saved up chore money for weeks to but pokemon firered, and I was quite depressed to find out that it wasn't Hoenn region I had picked. I later found out that emerald was the Hoenn region game and got it for Christmas. From that point on, I've been a big fan of Pokemon.

My big cousin was actually watching the first season. I watched it with him and enjoyed it. Then I just stopped watching it. When Pokemon Emerald came out, My big cousin got and told me all about it. I wanted to buy it so bad and I did. After that I just continued playing it.
Then I continued watching the show.

Before the dub was released in the philippines, I watched it in filipino for a year or so before they released the dub. So far, I've seen almost every episode save for 3 in DP:GB, 17 BW and banned epsode electric soldier porygon. I WAS about to watch it with my best friend until he got sent to the hospital while i bought some nacho cheese from the local sari-sari store due to epilepsy from the flashing strobe effect.

My brother was the first to introduce me into Pokemon, he gave me a stuffed Pikachu and then i watched the first Pokemon movie when it came out and loved it. My brother already had cards so i bought my own and the movies. We traded cards while in elementary school.

when I was in like first or second grade there was nothing on T.V. so I decided to watch it forget which episode it was but I only watched a bit I didn't get into it until the advanced generation I watched a bit more my first game was pokemon platinum on DS thats what really got me into it I still have yet to see all the movies seen like half or 3/4 of them

I did remember this thread and forgot to post this. XD Anyways, back in 1999 (that was my first grade year) my Dad gave me a Burger King Toy (that was Geodude). After I start collecting more toys, cards, watch a Pokemon Anime (couldn't remember which episode is it) then I was become a Pokemon fan ever since.

I was in 8th grade when i came to know about pokemon. I saw one of my friend exchanged somekind of card.Then he told me about pokemon anime and cards(Nobodt knew how to play it,just collection was the big craze). After 2 months i saw my 1st episode on CN. from then on I am a pokemon fan.
