There are a lot of really interesting and unique names for people, towns, items, Pokemon, and much, much more in the Pokemon world. Here's a thread where we can discuss our favorite, our least favorite, names we've come up with, and so on, from the anime, the games, the mangas, etc.
Here's some topics to start us off:
What is/are your favorite name/s for a city or town? Least favorite?
My favorites are Goldenrod City, Saffron City, Lavender Town, and Petalburg City. Least favorite is Pacifidlog Town, because it took me a while to figure out how to pronounce that -__-
What is/are your favorite name/s for a female player character? Least favorite?
My favorites are May and Dawn (I also love their Japanese names, Haruka and Hikari). Least favorite is Hilda, but it's not terrible. Her Japanese name Touko makes up for it xD
What is/are your favorite name/s for a male player character? Least favorite?
My favorites are Yuuki, a.k.a. Brendan's Japanese name, and Touya, a.k.a. Hilbert's Japanese name. My least favorite is actually Hilbert, because who the f*ck names their son Hilbert?

I kind of like the new player Japanese names for the Black and White 2 boy and girl: Kyouhei and Mei!

Personally, I prefer the simple, like Lavender Town
Although I must say, there's something seriously catchy about Celadon City...

Did they seriously name a Pokemon that?! That's horrible! Poor kitty, I just looked it up and you're right it's not ugly at all D:
In that case, I'm going to have to agree with Sierra on this one. That's so ridiculous!
As for what I'd name it instead, I'm going to suggest....Purrawesome X3
