Sceptile Forever... Man! but this has to be the hardest choice... Hoenn undoubtedly had the best group of starters. I like Sceptile because of Ash's Sceptile's personality... But if you talk about gen 3 games Blaziken had an upper hand due to its stats and moveset... But gen 6 remake of ORAS upgraded Sceptile's moveset and it's amazing... But at the end its Sceptile for me.

Agreed there, Gen 3 has the best starters, I've experience with all three in Pokemon showdown,
If we compare Sceptile and Swampert, no offense but Swampert doesn't stand a chance, Swampert Vs Blaziken, I'd say Blazeiken is better, it's speed is better then Swampert, which means it can move first, and one Close combat or Earthquake should be enough to at least damage Swampert to a reasonable amount, if we see in game, there Blaziken can win also, but in Smogon/Showdown, I don't think Blazeiken will be able to win... But it's and exception of it's stats and EVs are in match with nature and IVs, then I thing there is a chance of KOing a Swampert with a Close combat... So yeah it's 75% Swamperts game but Blaziken has reasonable chances too.... And in games, but you're dammed if the Swamperts item is Focus sash..., it's 50/50, now the hot potato, Sceptile Vs Blaziken! If we see the move sets, Sceptile is very much more versatile then Blaziken, it has nearly all Dragon and half fighting type moves... It also has Hyper beam, I mean if you ask for the most versatile moveset in Gen 3, it's Sceptile no doubt.... If you see the speed, then there's a HUGE difference, with will nearly always give Sceptile the move first, except when the trainer messes with EVs, IVs, and nature... So does Sceptile has a move which can KO Blaziken, yes it frekingly has it, it's Outrage, Earthquake, and Focus Blast or punch, Acrobatics also can KO Blaziken if Sceptile doesn't have an item, but I won't suggest that, the best way to defeat Blaziken in a battle is give Sceptile a focus sash! I did that mistake in my battle with KOPS, if you'll give it a focus sash then it'll survive any fire type attack, of course after damaging Blazeiken with the moves I mentioned above, and after that if the luck is with you, Sceptile will move first and will Defeate Blazeiken with one of those moves but I'll recommended Outrage, as I've Koed a Magmortar with the strategy mentioned above, but it also depends on luck, if the conditions are not in your favour then Blaziken will win, now let's talk about the games, here the winning chances of Sceptile are even higher....

Now there's still a question left.... Swamperts base stat is higher the both Sceptile and Blaziken, by 5 but can it change anything?

Hoenn obviously is my favorite region closely followed by Sinnoh... The only thing I don't like about gen 3 games is water, too much of surfing. Surfing area after Lilycove around Mossdeep and Sootopolis and the Groudon/Kyogre Arc is very annoying... That's the only negative point I feel about gen 3
