Who cares. Where my Gen4 remakes at Probably not until 2020, buddy. 2019 is the year of Gen 8. Or maybe 2021, depending on if there'll be a third version(s) and/or sequel game(s) for the main Gen VIII games. Also, we have a teaser poster!

We now have new info, courtesy of Serebii!
Exactly as people have thought, this movie is going to be the first fully-CGI Pokemon movie.
I'm not sure how I feel about this...

Here's to hoping it turns out good. I wonder if they're taking tips from the people who made "Expelled from Paradise"? They did an awesome job at making an all CGI anime film.

CGI anime turn me off, though. I once saw a preview for one (forgot the name, though) and it all looked so clunky. Godzilla also had a few CGI anime movies and I think those turned me off too.

It’s going to really depend on how Ash and the other human characters look. We’ve seen plenty of commercials that show they can make CGI work for Pokémon, but anime humans is another thing entirely.
Personally, I’m not a huge fan of CGI in general, because it often doesn’t hold up very well, especially in anime. If you look at Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, my all-time favorite series, you can easily see the CG Envy in his true form does not hold up well at all. The hand drawings of him in this form work, but not the CG.
I dunno; I kind of wish everything wasn’t trying to transition to CGI. I mean, don’t get me wrong, it can look really good, and even this teaser looks well-animated. Still, traditionally-drawn animation has a charm to it that I really enjoy.
I’ll give this movie the benefit of the doubt when it comes to the animation, but it will all depend on story. I haven’t seen any of the movies since Hoopa rubbed me the wrong way.

Once again, if you want to see CGI done well in an anime movie just look at Expelled From Paradise. It manages to pull off the CGI amazingly and I hope that the upcoming Mewtwo film takes cues from it.

Well...
At least the Pokémon and environments look pretty good... Can’t say the same for Ash, Misty, and Brock... Though, I suppose it could be worse...

The CGI looks pretty good for the most part, though.
