Hey, guys, let’s try to use spoiler tags for a little while, okay? I know the thread is specifically a discussion of the movie, so people should probably know to avoid it, but let’s do it just in case. Anyway, I really loved this movie. All the characters worked well together, Thanos is probably the greatest Marvel villain ever, and this is so the direction they needed to go.
What do I mean by that? Well, let’s consider what happened in the movie, most specifically at the end. After everything the Avengers did to try and stop Thanos, the Mad Titan actually won. The villain won. Half of the universe was destroyed, including many of the newer heroes, leaving the original Avengers and a few others, including possibly Hawkeye, Ant-Man, Wasp, and probably the character I’m most excited about, Captain Marvel.
So, what happens now? How could the Avengers possibly fix this mess? Honestly, I have no idea, and that’s the beauty of it. None of us have any idea where the MCU is going from here. We do know there are going to be sequels for Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, and the Guardians of the Galaxy, so it’s extremely likely that they will all be brought back. What’s going to be truly interesting to see is how the remaining Avengers are going to fix all this, as well as any possible sacrifices they may make in the process.
Another thing to think about is the most probable key character in Avengers 4, Captain Marvel. For those who are unaware of this character, Captain Marvel is considered one of the most powerful characters in the Marvel universe. Kevin Feige has said so himself. Her origin movie will be coming out in March of next year, just before Avengers, and it will take place in the 90s, making her one of the first heroes (I’m assuming one of the side-effects involved with her abilities is that she doesn’t age, or ages slowly, for potential sequels).
During the post credits scene, we see Nick Fury sending a message via pager to Captain Marvel as he is fading away. Nick Fury is going to be appearing in the Captain Marvel movie, so what I’m wondering is why is he just contacting her now? If he’s known her since the 90s and she’s one of the strongest heroes, why wouldn’t he have called her in during the first Avengers movie? Why not call her when Ultron was attacking? Exactly why has he waited until now to contact her?
Well, we’ll have to wait and see. Captain Marvel definitely gives us some hope after such a dark ending, and I think it’s very likely Avengers 4 will give us an uplifting ending to contrast Avengers Infinity War.
But yeah, great movie, probably one of my top five favorite Marvel movies (Still contemplating it XD).

okay then lets talk about this motherfucking movie then shall we ?
Okay so after initial shock wore off - I can say that this is an instant top 5 MCU film for me. The tone was a lot darker than any other film which I think we all can agree on, but as usual, great humour to balance it out (anyone else die when Tony called Thanos Squidward? Or anything involving Drax? Just me? okay)
We need to talk about Thanos though... Even though he is easily the best villain in the MCU by a country mile (sorry Killmonger) I couldn't help but be a little confused by his motives... I guess I was expecting the classic big titan ass motherfucker who is driven of pure domination and power but we got this big titan ass motherfucker who thinks hes a martyr and wants to create a better world and over population and shit... the whole thing came across as confusing to me... Can someone who read the Infinity War comics or any guardians comics in general clear this up for me? was his motive the original motive or nah?
and wow... Thanos won... well its a bit overdue that the bad guy won after 10 years and a billion movies of heroes coming on top... but it doesn't make it any less devastating.... like everyone fucking disintegrated and didnt get to die in battle like a hero should and them being powerless in death was absolutely heartbreaking for your boy... (anyone else tear up when spiderman died.... i know at least one of you cunts did)
what I loved about this movie is the amount of questions it left us... the most important being... WHERE THE FUCK WERE HAWKEYE AND ANTMAN...? did they not get the memo or some shit? help me? sidneote where was the Valkyiror girl that was about six seconds away from banging Thor in Ragnarok? did she just die off screen on the ship with the rest of asguard?
anyways brilliant film, Marvel made another classic... roll on Captain Marvel
and lol Peter Dinklage was a giant dwarf

From what I know of the comics (which isn’t much), his motives in the movies are pretty much the same as in the comics, except he was doing it to impress the female personification of Death (Not Hela).
Hawkeye and Ant-Man were mentioned as being under house arrest, but I’m pretty sure they’ll both appear in the next movie. And there’s a chance Valkyrie, Korg, and Meek died. I’m still confused about how Thanos only killed half of the Asgardians when it looked like he pretty much wasted all of them.

In the comics, Thanos wanted to wipe out half of the universe just to impress the literal female personification of Death. But I guess the Russo brothers found that a little too silly to translate into film, so they tweaked his motives.
So now, in the movie, he wants to wipe out half of the universe out of a misguided belief that he's saving the half that survives. See, his home planet Titan was becoming overpopulated and they had limited resources to go on. Thanos suggested, as a solution, cutting the world population down by half through indiscriminate genocide, but naturally the world leaders shot that idea down. This wound up becoming the Titan race's downfall, and he's the last of his kind left (that we know of). His beliefs have since gone on to apply to the rest of the universe: he thinks every planet with life has limited resources to go on, and there are many civilizations that have become advanced to the point where they're overpopulating like Titan was. Hence why he wants to wipe out half of the universe.
That's what I got out of it, at least.
And I don't think Valkyrie and co. are dead just yet. This movie made a point of making every death count, so they would've shown us the bodies. I think Thor managed to send them away for help.

Honestly, I can really understand his motives. I don’t agree with them on a moral level, because I believe all lives matter, but the way they showed his background and used him really connected me to the character. Which is good, because Marvel can have a tough time creating good villains, though they’ve been getting much better lately. Actually, they’ve been on point with their villains since last year.
