I thought it would be cool to know what games everyone played as a kid. So obviously, what were the games you grew up with and/or your favorite game? Your favorite gaming memory? Who got you into playing games?
For me, I recall playing the old Tetris arcade machine we had in the garage. I was a Nintendo and PlayStation kid. I played Tekken, Animal Crossing, Thrillville, Mario 64/Mario Kart (basically all Mario games), Sims, Duck Hunt, and Paper Boy.
My favorite memory would have to be when we would have Tekken tournaments. It'd be me, my dad, and three sisters. My mom would just watch.
The person who got me into games was my grandma, my sisters never wanted to play with me because of our age differences, and so I stayed with my grandma and she introduced me to Sims 1.

We have a PS2, a Wii, and a DS, all of which are now nonfunctional. But in the good ole days, me and my brother played "Jak and Daxter", "Super Smash Bros. Brawl", "Pokemon Pearl", and "Pokemon Ranger". THOSE GAMES WERE DA SHIT. We had other games too, but those four were just really special to us back then.

Welp, I feel slightly self-conscious now for growing up with Lego Batman on my Wii. Lego was my jam back then because I was too poor for a DS. I bought one recently so the first legitimate Pokemon games I have are ORAS

Well, if you say growing up there's lots of em for me. I've played with PS, PS2, GBA, SNES, and NDS but never actually ownig them, because it's either my cousin's or my brother's.
I remember playing Crash Bandicoot, Pokémon (especially FR/LG and Emerald), Fire Emblem, Tekken, and Megaman(as impossible as it is back then), Capcom vs games, and a lot of other tactic games my dad had like Age of Empires. Another favorite thing for me is when we played Capcom vs Marvel, I'd use Strider Hiryu or Megaman or Morrigan and then my cousin'd pick the boss character, and I'd accuse: they're cheating! (or it's unlockable maybe?) but alas, beating it is always nice.

This was way back then, but Lego Racers and Lego Island 2 for PC (I was like 5).
For handhelds I had a GB Advanced SP and a first generation DS which I played almost all the Pokémon games and a couple others such as Harvest Moon, The World Ends With You and Mario Kart DS. Nintendo consoles I owner a Gamecube and Wii. My most memorable games are Smash Bros Melee and Brawl, Mario Kart Double Dash and Wii. I also like Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door.
My cousin in Thailand had a PS2 and he got me hooked onto Burnout 3 Takedown which led me getting Burnout Paradise for the PS3. Most of my friends back then had an Xbox 360 so I remember playing games like Guitar Hero, Lego (starwars, batman, etc).

Growing up I use to play a bunch of Magic School Bus games. I'd also play Commander Keen, Captain Claw, Crash Bandicoot 2, and Age of Empires. I would also sometimes go over to my friend's house and we'd play Super Smash Bros., Mario Kart 64, and Goldeneye.

First game I ever played was probably Super Mario Land for the original Game Boy; first Pokémon game was Red Version, and then Gold came along and I was hooked for life. A lot of games I played as a kid were Genesis (TMNT: The Hyperstone Heist, NHL 94 and the like). The game that was most of my childhood (and senior year of high school) was LEGO Rock Raiders; my friends and I would try to puzzle that game out for hours.

This thread probably isn’t relevant since the past post is from 2017, but whatever...
When I grew up, the first games I ever played were mainly MarioKart and Mario Party. I played some other things as well, but it was mainly these. For my 7th birthday in 2012, I was gifted my first Pokémon game, Pokémon White. This is when I really started to be in to Pokémon games.
Fast forward through the rest of my lifetime, I played games such as Skylanders, Geometry Dash, Super Smash Bros, and more. Many of the games I’ve mentioned I still play.
One of my oldest video game related memories that I still remember every detail of took place a few months after I got my first Pokémon game. My brother and I were playing outside in our driveway, and one of his friends came over. He had cheat codes, and he agreed to give me a lvl 30 shiny reshiram. While it wasn’t a legit shiny, I was still really happy to get it.
I enjoyed looking back over my gaming life by writing this. (Hopefully I didn’t drag this out more than I should’ve)

I just remembered the WiiSports game. I loved playing that too, especially the golf and bowling parts.

During quarantine, I’ve revisited some of my old favorite games/ ones that I just played occasionally. Back then I thought that the graphics and everything were incredible. But now I saw how trashy they were compared to modern games. Except for some of the Mario games like galaxy and sunshine. I don’t think those will ever get too old for me to enjoy
