 I wanted to go ahead and put this together since Sky beat me to it last time. Speedy's edit: So Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon got leaked early. As there are people on this forum who are trying to avoid spoilers I would like to remind you all not to reveal any spoilers about the games until after they have been officially released and even the to use the spoiler tag. So, these games seem to be taking the approach Black 2 and White 2 took. Haven't watched the video yet, but Solgaleo and Lunalaa seem to have combined with Necrozma. Does that mean we'll be getting a time skip? I would love to see the characters come back older and changed just a bit. |

I would like to point out that unlike Black 2 and White 2, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are in fact altrenate retellings of Pokémon Sun and Moon.
It's the 3rd version AU that the games use to do before Gen 5 but this time with 2 games.

I would like to point out that unlike Black 2 and White 2, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are in fact retellings of Pokémon Sun and Moon. Wait, really? Like I said, I can't watch the video yet, so I have no idea. Man, I really wanted a time skip. Don't get me wrong, I love Sun and Moon, but I wanted to see Alola after a few years have passed. Maybe have Lillie return from Kanto and have some new plot going on. I couldn't tell you who would be causing it since the baddies from Sun and Moon seemed to quiet down after what happened, but still. |

So, there seems to be a chance that these games will be on the Switch. This hasn't been confirmed and I have no idea if they'll be Switch only or on the 3DS as well, but I'm kind of mixed between excited and concerned. I mean, I really want console main series Pokémon games, but I don't know how I feel about having to spend around $400-500 to get a new console and the games. Not to mention any accessories needed such as anything to store data if the games take up too much space.

As for the Switch...there's nothing for sure. Also, lovely to see Nintendo continuing the trend of knee-jerk main series Pokemon title reveals at the last possible moment in their trailers with very little information actually given. |

It's only been a few hours and I'm already seeing very mixed responses from the masses about the new games.
Seriously guys, all we know 100% is the names and that the box legendaries get new forms. There's no need to start assembling witch hunters quite yet.

Most people who were made aware of Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon saw the trailer and not the Direct.

To be fair, we haven't had a third version-like game since Platinum, which came out almost nine years ago. And the last time we even had a game where we return to the region within the same generation was Black 2 and White 2. Plus, let's be honest: two games with the box legends apparently fusing with the trio leader? That's pretty similar to Black 2 and White 2, so I could see how one might assume they were sequels like I did. I also haven't gotten to watch any of the videos yet, so I have only pictures and speculation. It's SkyWe're in the speculation phase. Because we have little to no information on what the games will be like, we can only guess, and depending upon the guess, it could seem good or bad. I mean, I'm looking forward to them, but I probably would have bought them regardless of how they looked. I will say I didn't expect them to take Necrozma in the Kyurem direction. Obviously, he was going to get another form like many of his other trio leader counterparts (Heck, even Rayquaza technically has an alternate form now), but I just didn't know what it would be. |

Duuuuude, I'm excited af about this!
Seeing the "alternate story" description for these games makes me wonder if they'll apply that to the anime somehow...probably specifically with the AU they seem to be aiming for in Movie 20.

Sometimes I forget how toxic Pokémon fans can get over the smallest things. Think I'll be taking a break from certain parts of the internet until things with these games die down a bit.
