Hey, everyone! It's Pichu and I've got a ton of news for you today regarding Sun and Moon! I'm sure a number of you already know about this stuff, but I'm going to tell you again anyway! We've got starters, we've got legendaries, and we have a region design/name! Let's get into this!
Okay, so I'm going to start with the region name and design. We have confirmation it's going to be called the Alola region and I'm pretty sure it's based off of Hawaii. The Japanese commercial has a Japanese boy move to Hawaii and eventually makes friends with some Hawaiian kids over Sun and Moon. Also, there are a number of clothing designs and other bits that confirm it to be a Hawaiian region. Anyway, let's look at the map.
It looks like we've got a volcano and some islands around. I can't really find that one building that we saw back in February, but still, this looks like a fun region. Also, from the preview, it's looking like trainer customization is returning, if only with skin tones. They added a fourth, darker skin tone to the mix.
Next, I'll go ahead and mention the legendaries. The Sun legendary looks to be based off a lion while the Moon legendary looks like a bat. We don't have much info on them yet, but I'm sure we'll learn more soon.
Now, for the thing I'm most excited about, the starter Pokémon! First, we have Rowlet, the Grass Quill Pokémon, a Grass/Flying-type. Its height is 1'00", it weighs 3.3 kg, and it has the ability Overgrow.
I also have some Pokedex information about it: Rowlet can attack without making a sound! It flies silently through the skies, drawing near to its opponent without being noticed, and then lashing out with powerful kicks. It can also attack from a distance using the razor-sharp leaves that form part of its feathers. Its visual abilities are impressive. The darkness of night is no obstacle to Rowlet! It can twist its neck nearly 180° from front to back so it can see directly behind itself. It has a habit of turning its head in battle to face its Trainer and receive instructions. The move Leafage attacks an opponent by striking it with leaves. Rowlet knows this move from the moment it becomes your partner!
Second is Litten, the Fire Cat Pokémon. It is a pure Fire-type. Its height is 1'04" and it weighs 9.5 kg. Of course, it has the ability Blaze.
Here's some Dex information on it: Logical but also passionate, Litten always remains coolheaded and doesn't show its emotions on the surface. Litten can attack with flaming hairballs! Its fur is rich in oils and immensely flammable. Litten grooms itself by licking its fur, and then uses the collected fur as fuel for fireball attacks! When the time comes for Litten to shed its old fur, it all burns up in a glorious blaze. The move Ember attacks an opponent by firing a small flame at it. Litten knows this move from the moment it becomes your partner!
Finally, we have Popplio, the Sea Lion Pokémon. It is a pure Water-type and has Torrent as its ability. Its height is 1'04" and it weighs 16.5kg.
Here's some Dex information on it: Popplio's swimming speed is known to exceed 25 mph. It's better at moving in the water than on land. Still, when it's on land, it takes advantage of the elasticity of its balloons to perform acrobatic stunts and jumps. Popplio can snort out balloons made of water! Watch it spin water balloons into a playful battle strategy! Both frivolous and hard-working, Popplio can easily get carried away—unleashing enough power in battle to make quite a spectacle! But Popplio’s determined spirit means it can usually be found practicing hard on its balloon skills. The Water Gun move attacks an opponent by firing a jet of water. Popplio knows this move from the moment it becomes your partner!
The games come out in most places November 18th, although Europe won't get it until November 23rd. Also, before I close us out, here are the preview videos I mentioned before:
So, what do you all think about this information? Does anybody know what games and starters they're going to pick? Let me know in the comments down below! All right, that's been your PokeNews this week! See ya next time!
