I also heard a theory about the new region being based off of Germany because it's known for its automobile manufacturing companies and there was a great amount of emphasis on vehicles in the concept art we saw in the announcement trailer.
Personally, I am leaning towards the Spain theory.

Apparently that hotel shown is nearly identical to a popular resort in Singapore, and Hawaii has yellow fire trucks with a very similar design to the one in the concept art. |

And Hawaii evidently is known as the rainbow state. I mean they code named it that for some reason. Oh and look a this crazy theory. As for the whereabouts of that prism stone thingy in the anime (if it exists, of course), something tells me it could be hidden inside Ash and/or Greninja... And yes, I am SO original. |

According to a post I saw, four of the colors in the pattern on Perfect Zygarde's chest (all but the white part) almost perfectly match the hex colors for the logos of X, Y, Sun and Moon. Just an interesting note.

Just an interesting note. Huh. I always wondered why those colors were included. Perhaps we'll get Z Version after all, but at a later date? Who knows? Anyway, I wanted to comment on a few things we've been talking about, such as the location the region was based off of. If any of you watched the video I linked to, you'll hear a lot about the three main theories being Singapore, Spain, and Hawaii. Honestly, I agree with the video because Singapore's a bit too small to be turned into a full region, but a part of it might be used. The Horsea fountain and flag at the hotel/school/gym is also a strong case for Spain or somewhere in the Mediterranean. However, I really like the Hawaii theory for a number of reasons. First, the clues we've gotten regarding Sun and Moon involved Flowers, Rainbow, and the little tiki-like item you can get in X and Y. All three are strong arguments for Hawaii being the area the new region is based off, not to mention Hawaii has deities for the sun and moon, it has had strong ties with Japan in the past, and there's a Machamp riding in the back of the pickup truck, which is legal in Hawaii. As for the Burst Heart theory, it definitely would make sense, especially if Hawaii is the what the new region is based off of. A lot of the Hawaiian deities are humanoid, so perhaps we'll see more Mons like Perfect Zygarde. |
