I know, I'm waaaaay late to the party.
I've been meaning to get this game, but with monetary constraints and just no time, I haven't gotten around to buying it. I no longer have those issues anymore.
That being said...
Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire. Which one is better and is it worth it?
Go.

I got Alpha Sapphire because I originally bought Sapphire. I'd say the games are pretty good but they do tend to be a bit hand holdey up until the E4.

I feel these are the most disappointing games in the series. They are great games in every possible way but they could have been so much more.

ORAS were a disappointment for me through and through.

Ultimately, I settled on AS. Beat it today.
I liked the new features, like the soaring on Latias and whatnot, and the game looks pretty good for what it is. Gave me some good nostalgia moments.
However, I do feel as if the game is, as has been said, a little too hand-holdey. I didn't like how the lati is just given to you, and how you're not left to find where you need to go (though it's not hard anyway). Kinda like how they incorporated more lore to the game, though, especially concerning Rayquaza.
Speaking of Rayquaza, I caught it literally the first 10 seconds, by throwing a quick ball, then caught Deoxys 2 minutes later with the Master ball. Talk about anticlimactic...

Rayquazza's capture rate was buffed to Reshirim and Zekrom levels for ORAS seeing that it needs to be captured for plot reasons.

Wow, people are disappointed with these games? I think people got their expectations a bit too high. I for one just got OR and a 3DS, and I am enjoying the game so far. I don't think these games were designed with the older fans in mind, anyway.

I was rather apathetic, because so many people were just hyping it a lot. I didn't want to fall for that and hell, I was still disappointed. They never were, but they touted it as being one for the older fans, like FR/LG and HG/SS. Except, those still had a moderate difficulty. This game just held your hand, patting your back for just fucking walking. Then we had Zinnia and oh man, I despise her. So much. She's annoying, a huge condescending little prat that thinks she knows it all, and is doing the dumb shit in the game where she blames it on the others. The only good thing about her is her theme and I don't even like it as much.

ORAS are still Pokemon games. Is it even possible to make a bad mainline Pokemon game? I don't think so.

I was deadass going to buy this launch day but I settled for smash instead.. My brother got OR but I got caught up with other games and eventually forgot until Pokémon go reminded me that I still needed to buy AS, so I did.
This is probably my favorite Pokémon game out so far, although the lack of the battle frontier and really anything fun to do post game (after legendary hunting) was very disappointing.. 400 hours on X yet 60 hours on AS and I'm bored, but in terms of the main game I enjoyed this one the most.
