In other news, I make bad decisions when playing this game. Because the way I set up the children makes incest inevitable. And why exactly is that a bad thing?

And why exactly is that a bad thing?Like Yulia and Leaf, or the "twincest is winfest" Ephraim and Erika XD And there are quite a few more, too. It wouldn't be a medieval game without family member relations.

It is so hard to manage my troop with this whole capture system, einerjar(however it's written) and the annoying deployment setup that I didn't even realize that Kana was dead (MU's child)... Don't even know what chapter she died on or how she could have died... but... oops? Too late to save her now... :/
That really pisses me off; she was one of my best units.

I can't handle it. I have never seen such a cowardly irredeemable piece of shit like Conquest Corrin after Chapter 15. There are outright villains that are more sympathetic than Corrin. Corrin needs to die more than many many villains in the series do. This shitstain has the audacity to feel tortured about the difficult choice they make and how they'll have to fight their Hoshidan siblings while choosing to invade a peaceful country that has done no wrong.
Fuck Takumi? He is the sanest character in the entire game. I wanted him to kill Corrin. Corrin needs to die. I never seen a more vile character that's the writers feel we're supposed to sympathise with.

I never seen a more vile character that's the writers feel we're supposed to sympathise with. SPOILERS AHEAD (All aboard the spoiler train!): I think it's more pathetic that the writers had to make it SO CLEAR that the Hoshidans are the good guys, while the Nohrians are clear-as-day evil. Which basically leaves the choice of the player being "Do you want to be an a--hole and invade a peaceful nation alongside your power-hungry 'father'?" or "Do you want to be the good guy?". In Conquest the plot seems to focus on the family dynamics, while in Birthright the plot focuses on the cliche "Stop the evil invaders!" line. When the dragon girl dies (I forget her name, because... that's how important she is to the story), Corrin gets upset for about 30 seconds before continuing on like nothing happens. His daughter is also dead, but there was no special dialogue, the game goes right on. And even when there was opportunity to show that Corrin and the others care when one of their own is lost to war, no one really gives a shiz when Kaze dies in Birthright XD. I say blame the terrible writing. Corrin's character suffers as a result.

I will definitely agree that the script for the games is not the most inspired I've ever seen, for either story. I haven't heard much about Revelations as of yet but I'm hoping it's a bit more creative story-wise.

I haven't heard much about Revelations as of yet but I'm hoping it's a bit more creative story-wise. But if it takes three games to give one a half-decent story, then that says a lot for Intelligent System's current team. And then that brings the question of "what was all this time and effort being spent on, if not the story/character development, to which has always been important in the Fire Emblem games?" ... And I'd be afraid to answer "Fan-service."

It's $130 dollars for the special edition of Fates here in Australia. See this why we haven't sold out on copies yet. It's too fucking expensive to be worth buying in bulk for scalping. XD
