Now that's just poor writing. You've being doing this a lot in these past few episodes, given us a hope spot and then just dues ex machina-ed it away from us.
Stop doing that.

That's not poor writing. I keep seeing this, especially on Youtube where the fans behave as if something that they don't like happens, or a character they like dies is bad writing.
And I'm no fan of Season 2 so yeah. Gotta disagree that this was poor writing. Wasn't even a Deus Ex Machina since we see the same shooters in a scene with Nobliss Gordon talking with Rustal saying how he'll take care of things. It's reasonable to assume that Rustal knows someone got away in the chaos of Bael even if it wasn't stated out loud. And from that, we can easily gather that Nobliss would know that those who escaped would head to Kudelia's company location (assuming that's what it was, since I don't remember). There's a logical explanation of how this happened and it makes sense that it did.

I was actually referring to the multiple hope spots they've been setting up and then yanking out at the last moment. Shino has the perfect shot? Julieta disrupts it at the last possible second.
Tekkadan trying to escape to Mars? Too bad. Rustal has branded them as criminals.
Finally found a way out of this mess? It's a shame that the communications just happened to go out right now.
Have a concrete way of getting off Mars? Orga gets killed right as the credits start playing. I mean, it's not like Tekkadan looked to him for guidance and won't suffer a major blow to their moral for this.
I know now that there was moments of foreshadowing like with Lafter but the way they executed (no pun intended) the scene kinda left a bad taste in my mouth. I kinda understand what their going for now that I've had a moment to cool my temper but pulling the sudden wham moment right before the credits multiple episodes in row after building up a sense of hope doesn't help ender people to the show. You start heading towards the "I don't care what happens to these characters" territory and that's not a place you want to be when writing a show.

McGillis still can't hit his targets. The man is truly incompetent.

Lot's of people have been dying these past few eps and none of them are Iok. It's a sad day to be an IBO fan.

There goes the iconic villain of this show. Rustal will take his place now though by the looks of it, Tekkadan will fall even before confronting him.
Let's hope for a little plot device that will save Tekkadan for at least until they can fight Rustal directly. I mean, Gundam shows normally ends in space battles.
P.S.: Hush's death is more meaningful than ChocoChar's

But in all honesty, I'm glad that they didn't do the "Dash all built up hope in the last 10 seconds" thing again. While this episode did show that the ending is going to be bitter sweet it still at least leave some chance for a happy ending for the rest of Tekkadan.

Final episode of Iron Blooded Orphans. In which I'm left with a bittersweet taste in my mouth. At least Iok's death was satisfying.

No offense, if you enjoyed the show, good for you. I don't mind the bittersweet ending but the way how the show ended just comes pretty cheap for me. I didn't really felt that emotional for the fall of Tekkadan. I've already predicted that Mika will die, especially after he becomes disabled. Rustal is still pretty villainy despite the treaty. Barbatos' fall on Julietta's hand also comes pretty cheap. Barbatos was already weakened thanks to the Deinsleif squadron and Julietta and some other Graze are pretty lucky to take it down. Iok's death was pretty 'meh to me. And the very usual, the ending came with too much talking. Overall, the show doesn't feel like a Gundam show to me. It feels like a generic drama anime with some mechs in it. Oh well, hopefully Twilight Axis would be good.

Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny are getting re-dub. I wonder what brought that on.
On the other hand this means the HD-versions will be seeing a western release.
...Eh. I already have the two series on DVD with the old dub anyway so I'm probably not going to end up looking into the new dub any way.
