Thanks to going into the foray of Mobile and PC gaming. No more video game console gaming for anyone else anymore. Source

Son of a... Why can't people realize that sometimes the old ways are the best?!
At least video game consoles will become pretty valuable collectible items another few years from now.

Arcade games, I'd suppose. I miss having an arcade nearby... even though most of the old games I have on Nintendo/Sega systems...
Sega makes some pretty good games though... Bayonetta, Columns, Crazy Taxi, Sonic, Valkyria Chronicles, Virtua Fighter, Yakuza... of the ones I can remember. Not that they're dead and gone, but... I dunno anymore.

I've been to a few arcades and they still have the original Sega arcades, though no one goes to them at all in favor for Mario Kart GP Arcade Racer. Go figure. Bayonetta was developed by Platinum Games. Columns was okay. Crazy Taxi, I'll give you that. Sonic has his ups and downs and even then, he's the reason Sega is dying/dead. Valkyri Chronicles was okay. Virtua Fighter started to suck. Yakuza... Maaaan....

But it was made in cooperation with Sega, no? Columns was a secondary Tetris. Crazy Taxi... that game always whooped my arse. Sonic... I'm not really a fan of. Valkyria Chronicles is one of my favorite games, for the characters, the plot, the fresh art-style, the interesting mechanics, etc. It had it's problems, but... I worked around 'em. Virtua Fighter is overshadowed by other games (Skullgirls, Tekken, Street Fighter, etc.). I can't say much for Yakuza, as I haven't touched it much yet; Only 4.

Wrong. Bayonetta was published by Sega. As a result of the publishing deal, Sega owns the IP as well as Platinum Games.

Examples? The original PlayStation. GameBoy. Arcade games, like Marksman said. The only ones who do play them are people who still understand them, and as time passes, that number's dwindling.

Ah, yes, the birth of the Playstation. The console that was originally made as the Nintendo Playstation. There were lies, broken contracts, and various other tomfoolery leading to its success and Nintendo's own consoles demise. The Gameboy and Arcades, sure. Good times; but they're still around. Not as popular, but they are still around to this day. Besides, sometimes old ways aren't all good. Nintendo were notorious for their monopoly, their bullying against other companies, and so on. Sega and their subsidiaries kept arguing within each other, mostly SOA and SOJ. Atari trying to make a comeback. And that has nothing to do with why Sega is leaving the console business. The reason is because they literally have little to no money left due to Sonic Boom being a colossal failure for them. $18 million dollars went into that game and bam, not one net profit from it. Restructures were made, layoffs happened, and due to this - they knew to survive was to go into the most profitable area for gaming: mobile. It sucks, but it's business. With PC, I'm actually happy as they're one of the few to have sent out games to the PC market. Japan is notorious for constantly shitting on PC.
