I hate the Elite Four in this game. Those Ice pokemon... they obliterate me. You meant Glacia, right?

I hate the Elite Four in this game. Those Ice pokemon... they obliterate me. Seems Vater is having problems with his team of dragons. Don't you have a single fire type? or fighting move? especially fighting with 42 fighting type moves. (type with most moves bar normal)

ALWAYS come prepared. Ensure your team is full of multiple Types. And know your Type compatibility. If you have any prior knowledge of the Hoenn Elite Four, then it'd be easy for you to make the necessary preparations.

Right now, my team consists of: Lv. 49 Blaziken (holding Charcoal): Double Kick, Bulk Up, Blaze Kick, and Flame Charge Lv. 48 Crobat (holding Focus Band): Venoshock, Air Slash, Fly, and Toxic Lv. 47 Ludicolo (holding Miracle Seed): Grass Knot, Surf, Solar Beam, and Bubble Beam Lv. 49 Gyarados (holding Gyaradosite): Ice Fang, Waterfall, Earthquake, and Strengh Lv. 47 Pikachu (holding Light Ball): Thunderbolt, Nuzzle, Discharge, and Slam Lv. 48 Metagross (holding Metal Coat): Metal Clas, Psychic, Meteor Mash, and Agility. Do you have the TM for Brick Break? If so you should teach it to Blaziken over Double Kick.

I suggest leveling up Blaziken and using it against all of Glacia's Pokemon if you wanna get past her.

Does there really need to be much of a discussion on this?
Metagross should be able to take her out by itself. It's close to an Agiligross build so just use one Agility and then Meteor Mash 5 or 6 times. A STABed Super Effective Meteor Mash from an attack heavy Pokemon like Metagross should one shot pretty much any Ice-Type of similar level. Add in Mega-evolution and you can win in your sleep.
Hell, Mega-Metagross should almost be able to clear the entire E4 by itself. I only activated it for Steven at the end because it felt like he should at least be honored by being defeated by my full strength. Even if I did one-shot every one of his Pokemon for doing so.
As for the others; Blaziken should be enough for Sidney, nothing overly effective against Phoebe but she's easy enough to simply power through, and Gyarados for Drake. Though I would ditch Strength in a heartbeat for Dragon Dance. And also toss out Psychic for Zen Headbut. As I said before, Metagross' Attack is among the best in the game and it's a waste to depend on its average level SpAtk.

Does there really need to be much of a discussion on this? Well, it seems like this person hasn't played the RSE games before, or at least not for a while, so he/she needs some insight info.

I'm pretty noobish when it come to Pokemon anyhow. I never check for IVs or EVs, and I also don't breed for perfect Pokemon. At least know your leveling and Type compatibility. Probably the most basic stuff you need to beat an opponent's Pokemon.

@lordvater - Well for the general storyline, IVs and EVs won't play a huge role. As Kitten said, using the type strengths and weaknesses along with the knowledge of what each Pokemon's types are is about all you really need to know. Out-leveling your opponent can easily take care of what would come from not worrying about them. It just comes down to hitting the opponent with a Super Effective attack as often as possible with a strong attack, made even easier with the predictability of the AI. When you get into competitive battling though and levels are all the same on top of the fact you're going up against other humans, that's when they become a lot more important.
Generally though just take a look at the Pokemon's stats when you select the Pokemon to see what its strengths are. Not always easy to see with low-level Pokemon but by 50 there should be stats that are clearly ahead of the others. So work with the Pokemon's strengths.
