Welcome everyone to the Advancers Advanceshipping forum. To help everyone enjoy their stay, we as the staff suggest that you read over our rules before you start posting.
Many of the rules have an asterisk or two at the end of them and each set of asterisks corresponds to one of the two sets of penalties listed after the rules. The ones with one asterisk are each individual and don't stack with the others, they will simply build up if you refuse to make the change needed. The ones with two though can be cumulative depending on the issue at hand. These are the rules that protect the safety of all visitors to the forum and we as the staff will take them rather seriously.
Lastly, the mods or admins can also give in-thread warnings to bring things on track or closure to whatever issue is at hand. These are not formal warnings and are not counted towards the aforementioned lists.

1. Members are not allowed to attack other members using inappropriate language, name calling, etc. (**)
2. No threats of violence are allowed to be used on the site, whether towards members or anyone else. Threats cannot be used in a joking manner either. (**)
3. Stick to the topics presented in the threads and boards. Spam is not allowed anywhere but the Spam Fest!!! thread or any other designated thread. Double posting is allowed as long as it follows the topic of the thread and doesn’t get out of hand (*)
4. Banners in a signature will have a height limit of around 300 pixels and a reasonable width. If you have questions about whether your banner is appropriate don’t hesitate to ask a staff member, we’ll be happy to advise you. (*)
5. Swearing is allowed in moderation. Although if another member asks you to stop you are obligated to do so. Tying into the first rule though, you are not allowed to swear at or insult other members in a derogatory manner. (*)
6. Outright insulting other shippings or their supporters, whether they are Pokémon related or not, is not allowed. While this is an Advanceshipping forum all shippings have an equal right here. Discussion of shippings is encouraged, and honest opinions, if backed up with hints or facts, are allowed. (*)
7. No porn, hentai, or excessively graphic/gory material is allowed on the boards. Blood, “fanservice”, or material inferring mature themes in pics or videos can be posted in moderation. If another member asks to take down something because it’s uncomfortable or insulting and related to the aforementioned themes, then you are obligated to do so. (*)
8. The Usershipping board is for entertainment purposes only. Anything discussed in there shouldn’t be taken as fact unless truly stated otherwise by the individuals involved.
9. Sharing of personal information is highly discouraged and is not allowed outside of PMs, whether it’s your own or someone else’s. Many members are willing to share their first name but this is not required. This rule is to protect you, the member, more than anything and even in a PM what you decide to share is at your own risk. The one exception to this is the Facebook thread, and if you don’t feel comfortable sharing this with others you aren’t required to. (**)
Examples of banned personal information are as follows.
a. Full name (first names are okay)
b. Personal address
c. Social Security numbers
d. Personal passwords
e. Phone numbers
10. If you are having problems with another member, talk to the staff before taking it out on that person. Our conflict manager Pharah or any other admin or mod will mediate the situation until a compromise can be found.
11. Religion and politics can be mentioned but keep it to a minimum. This is a forum for connecting with other people where everyone can come here to relax or have fun. Don't try and push your opinions on other people. (*)
12. Members are allowed to have only one account each. Any two accounts with the same IP address will be up for questioning and the staff has all rights to investigate it through PM and remove the account in question. Furthermore, no member can pretend to be someone else, pretend to be multiple people, or access another member's account unless explicit permission is given (it is still highly discouraged to give your p/w out to another member, though). As for the consequences, instead of the posts being deleted the proxy accounts in question will be deleted instead. (**)
13. All the rules above apply for any official Advancers Group Discussions used outside the site by means of Skype, Google Plus, Quicktopic, etc.
14. Finally, use your heads. If you think that something shouldn’t be done while on the forums, ether because it’s not acceptable in real life situations or otherwise, then you probably shouldn’t do it. Unlike the others, this rule isn’t set in stone because of its vagueness but the use of common sense is required and this will be used only in the more extreme cases. Depending on the action taken the staff can respond accordingly.

The punishments listed above may be modified at the discretion of the staff in order to fit different circumstances. Punishments may be increased or decreased accordingly, depending on the severity of the infraction. Any changes in how punishments are being handled will be communicated via PM before implementation.
