Some games can be bought on the eShop. With the 3DS having a 2-4GB SD card in it, you might run out of space from buying and downloading games. No, only demos are free. This isn't Google Play or the App Store, which is good for me. Lastly, no, the 3DS and Wii U have an eShop while the Wii has a regular Wii Shop Channel. They're different due to change in online infrastructure.
