Now, unlike my previous posts, I will not make an essay regarding whatever I am posting. However, I do want to know:
- Do you listen to video game soundtracks (OSTs)?
- Why do you like listening to OSTs?
For me, I listen OSTS and I frankly love them. The reason why is that they are so versatile of a genre. It can range from being chiptune to being full blown symphonies. In regards to it, they can also be extremely melodious or really atmospheric. Plus, it's one of the few things we'd expect from games to even have.
First would be amazing gameplay and second, well to me, it would be having amazing music.

Yeah i listen to ost's (Particularly the ones that come from sonic or megaman games).
And i listen to them because they are enjoyable to listen to. I remember that a few months back i didnt listen to any song or ost if it wasnt on a video game (i started listening to other types of music around the start of this year).

Yes. I listen to VGM. I don't however listen to the entire soundtrack. Many songs usually particularly stick out and I like them more than others.
For example! I would prefer listening to Blaze Heatnix Stage theme rather than the Boss theme in the X6 OST.

I will usually download the entire soundtrack and listen to all of them, even if I don't like some songs.

I have a few game OSTs in my collection. Zelda OoT, Majora's Mask, Twilight Princess, Star Wars: KotOR, and Diablo II. KotOR I don't usually have on my list of songs playing all that often because of their repetitive nature but most of the time I can picture exactly where each song is considering how many times I've played that game, lol. I also remember playing the Diablo II soundtrack when I was playing Diablo III on release night. Still liked that one better.
I have a lot more from soundtracks but most come from movies and anime instead of games. In fact I'm getting a bit too many and the theme music types with no lyrics are starting to come close to the number of songs I have with lyrics.

The Devil May Cry and Chrono Trigger sound tracks are amongst my favourites.

I do as well, mostly from Sonic and Zelda games though. Song of Storms is my all time favorite song from any video game.
