After my good experience with Ultimate at Comic-Con, I feel tempted even more to buy a Switch. I'd recommend getting a Switch. It has some pretty good games on it. Wait till it's on sale though. That's what I did and my wallet is happier than what it would of been if I didn't.
Side note: While people on the internet are campaigning for the 3DS to die I would like to point out that the 3DS is way, way more portable than the switch is despite the fact that the Switch being portable is a main selling point. So if you have a 3DS don't treat the Switch as it's replacement because it kinda falls short at being as good a hand-held as the 3DS is.

Sooo... uh... There was an accidental leak by somebody at Nintendo. Specifically they went to privately upload a video and ended up accidentally changing the name of an already uploaded one. The name has been changed back since then but the screw up is already all over the internet.
I'm pretty certain somebody just got fired.
Anyway, if you wanna go into today's Smash direct unspoiled then stay off of social media for the next 10 and half hours.

I'm on a pretty strict budget, though, and I have enough distractions in life as it is.

Other stuff:
103 stages!
34 Castlevania songs!
Over 800 songs in the game! Over 900 when counting menu themes!
Fountain of Dreams is back, baby!
The "Everyone is Here!" image has been updated!
Monster Hunter gets a stage!
Zero from Megaman X is an assist trophy!
Ashley is still an assist trophy...
Dracula is a boss on the Dracula's Castle stage!
I can't believe that Luigi is fucking dead!
New training stage for training mode has a grid on it for calculating distances. It even shows trajectory of launched characters!
Fire Emblem finally has an item in the form of the Killing Edge!
Shovel Knight is an assist trophy!
The Moon from Majora's Mask is an assist trophy!
Music from Megaman X is in the game!
Richter says the line in the Castlevania reveal trailer!
...
There's more but talking about it will have me devolve into fanboy giddying so I'll leave it at this for now.
Man, I am so fucking hyped right about now!

This direct blew me away. Speedy covered pretty much everything but here's my extra two cents:
There are still some gaps in the "Everyone is here" poster so I'm sure we'll see more additions before the game launches. I'm fairly confident that one of those slots will be filled by Shadow as an Echo for Sonic, as we have seen a suspicious lack of him as an assist trophy.
The option to enable a "final smash meter" seems like an attempt to extend an olive branch to the competitive community. In fact, all of the changes to final smashes seem to be geared toward this. Maybe they're hoping to work final smashes into being competitive-legal?
I just hope there's a way to rebind the final smash command, as losing access to my neutral B as soon as the meter finishes filling seems incredibly inconvenient. At least with the smash ball there's an element of control to it.

Okay, how many characters were revealed overall so far? Does anyone have an exact count?

Rool as fighter #67 and there are 6 confirmed Echo Fighters (Dark Samus, Chrom, Dark Pit, Lucina, Daisy, and Richter) so far.
