We all have different opinions. Sometimes however, everyone is loving a certain something (in this case, a game) but you just can't fathom why people would even like it. It has happened to all of us, especially with Video Games. So talk about video games that you don't like but everyone loves.
Reminder: This is NOT the place to bash games. You can say that you dislike it and you can elaborate why you dislike it but I will frown upon a simple "THIS GAME SUCKS!"
For me, it's the Mario and Zelda franchises. I didn't grow up with these games so the Nostalgia factor doesn't affect me. I can respect what they represent to the industry (especially Mario) but out of the games I've played (SMB, SMB3) they just aren't my type of games.
As for Zelda, my first experience with that franchise was when I got the first game for free on my 3DS as an Ambassador. It literally drops you into the game with no instructions on what to do or where to go. Normally this isn't a problem but with an open world game, it severely affects enjoyability. This coloured my opinion of the series but I'll admit the later games don't do this, atleast not to such an extreme degree.
I'm also not fond of almost all JRPGs. People complainn about Protagonists in Western games always being a 30-something caucasian with a perma stubble and I always retaliate by saying the protagonists in all Japanese games are a pre-teen/teen male with a ridiculous choice of clothing and even more ridiculous hair style. Hey! If you can complain about stuff, so can I! XD

So, basically, your opinion on an overrated games/underrated games list. Well, I myself haven't played too many games to make a judgement. However, Colosseum and XD could be one of those games. Everyone didn't like the Shadow Snag system in the game, but it was a joy to me to play. I got as close to Citadark Isle in XD, however, my entire memory card corrupted, causing me to delete it...**.

The first four sonic games. I don't really hate them but I like alot of the new games more. I don't see why some people think that they are some of the best in the series.

I like their 3d prodecessors more than those. While I can see what they did to the industry, i prefer their 3d games(although, truth be told, i've only played Sonic Adventures 1 + 2, Heroes, Shadow the Hedgehog, and Sonic Unleashed as 3D sonic games)

Chrono Trigger for the extreme fanboyism that comes with it.
Also Zelda OoT.

Personally, I don't understand all the hype about Call of Duty games. I don't mind playing them, and I will join my friends for a modern warfare 3 or Black Ops gaming marathon from time to time, but I don't see why people find it so entertaining. Maybe it has something to do with my pacifist beliefs, but I don't see a game about mindless killing as being worth playing for hours on end. I just feels it lacks the entertainment factor...

Call of Duty is about mindless killing?
I thought it was a guide on how to be horrible to your friends and people you've never met.

Personally I've never been big on shooters or RPGs. This means Halo, CoD, and Oblivion. The only time I have EVER had fun playing Call of Duty was when a bunch of my cousins got together and we had an awesome time killing each other for 5 hours straight xP Pokemon is the only roll-playing game I can get into.

for me i don't understand why people like minecraft. i looks very boring and i have played it a few times. all you do is build stuff that doesn't even look real and people spend hours playing i just don't understand why. another one is link. like ranger Jack Walker said earlier it srops you right in the middle of a game and doesn't tell you what to do.
also Phil i agree with you on cod and battlefield(even though you didn't metion this) on how people have fun just killing people for hours on end. most times when i play these games i'am just talking with friends and not paying attention to whats happening

Most of my friends (specifically my male friends) enjoy RTS games, while I personally suck at them and can't really get into them anyway.
I also don't see the appeal in racing games, either, lol xD

I feel kinda bad here, all of the games you listed as "bad" or "you can't get into", or that you "can't understand" seems to be the games I enjoy whenever I do have the time to play xD
Anyways, to "defend" games in general, especially Modern Warfare 3: I can agree with the part that it seems boring just going around shooting people for hours. It DOES get boring, I can tell you. However, if you play competetive, for example with friends, it all suddenly turns awesome. This is why I almost never play alone.
With that said, I think the same goes for almost any other game. Most of the fun part with games is being with friends or being competetiv. But that doesn't mean that the game itself doesn't matter! xD

Anthoneey about summed it up! Even games I really like tend to be 100x better when played with friends. So guys, if you dislike a game, give it another go while in a group. Maybe you'll end up liking it, if only a little (:
