Being a film student and all, I thought it'd be cool to have a little thread for recommending and discussing certain films. So let's hear it! Bring your best, your worst, your Michael Bay garbage!
I'll start off my recommending one of my favourites, Battle Royale (Kinji Fukasaku - 2000), a film about 42 students thrust into a death game on an abandoned island, where only one can live. Sound familiar? It should, cuz Suzanne Collins ripped off Battle Royale to make The Hunger Games. It's a pretty dark, depressing film in some places, filled with portions of hope. The villain is freaking awesome and very memorable, and the two protagonists share a really sweet relationship in the face of everything.
What about you guys? Anything to recommend? Thoughts on my choice of movie? Lemme hear it!
MY TOP FIVE (IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER):
1. Battle Royale 2. Oldboy 3. Once Upon a Time in the West 4. Trainspotting 5. Dr. Strangelove

Never watched Battle Royale... O.o Is it any good? Mind blowingly good. Give it a watch, you won't regret it. Or, if you prefer, read the book (which is even better). It's one of my top three films ever.

My Top 10 Films list varies greatly from time to time, day to day. But I will say that I consistently enjoy "The Dark Knight", "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes", and "Captain America: The Winter Soldier".
