I do believe in the games they are called the dog trio though? i could be wrong, and I know they are mainly called the legendary beasts.
All I know is I want to see Legendaries evolving. Since regular's do, why don't any legendaries? The closest thing to it is Mewtwo from Mew.
For legendary trio, I'd say a light type, dark type, and normal. Three pokemon where one represents the evil or darkness, then light and good, and the one who stands in-between, acting as the peace-maker. They should have done this for Black and White, for light types have been involved many times, especially in the TCG. And I'd love to catch some light-type pokemon!
Anyway, here is what other trivia has to say: Many refer to them as legendary cats or legendary dogs, depending on if they personally see feline or canine features in the individual Pokémon. However, they are more likely based on many different creatures and mythological deities, such as Raijū, the Chinese guardian lions, and the qilin. On top of that, they also seem to have been stylized to fit the classic idea of three jungle cats or jungle beasts-- the tiger, lion, and cheetah

But Light-type already exists. It's shown as Psychic, Electric, and Normal.

In Japan, Dark type is actually "Evil type" and Fighting type is essentially the good type counterpart. (which is why fighting types are strong to dark types, with justicey stuff and what not) And Legendaries evolve will probably never happen either. Can you imagine how overly powerful they would become is they could? xD There would have to be a Super Uber Class.

They're not all at the same level. While it's unlikely, I wouldn't say that it'll be impossible. Even if it started out as something that isn't at the power of the other legendaries. Heck it would be a good piece to storylines if the bad guys are going after the unevolved form, you beat them to get it instead, but you still have no clue as to exactly what it is or why they're after it. As the game goes on you start to realize exactly what it is you have and what it'll become. Hell I'd say that would be an excellent way to go about it. It would give a good excuse to do things outside of battles by putting the pieces together and even trying to avoid detection from the bad guys. Matt, I love reading your thoughts like wowie Why thank you. I feel so honored.

But i'm just thinking of the name of this new eevee type. What is it meant to say? Like we all know Vaporeon is vapor - water. Ugh, this guessing game is hurting my head. sorry for going a little bit of topic but this is why i find that ash is stupid (sometimes) Sigh. Why do people hate when Ash looks at his pokedex at a pokemon his already seen and already own? Easy, because we assume he doesn't need it. But what about the younger viewers who have no idea what that pokemon is? In order to fix that Ash introduces that new pokemon by looking them into his pokedex. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS. I hate when people assume Ash knows everything about every single fucking pokemon his either seen, caught or trained with. Can't he be human and forget things from time to time? Sorry for off-topic but I felt like I needed to issue this.

To me I don't find it annoying that he takes out his pokedex xD I find it amusing sometimes since even though I know what pokemon it is :3 the pokedex always tells u different and new info about the pokemon I have no problem with his after all this is pokemon we are talking about not everybody can remeber every single pokemon time to time and this is beneficial for ash doing this cause who knows if there are new pokemon fans each and everyday watching this and they don't know what the hell are the names of the pookemon
