The exp share gives all of the Pokemon in your party 50% of the exp they would of earned if the participated in the battle. If a Pokemon participates in battle the exp is not split. For example: The lead Pokemon would get 100exp but if the exp share was one it would get 100 exp while every body else gets 50exp. If two pokemon fought they would both get 100 exp. The Exp. Share is quite the game breaker this current gen.
